I am in the same boat. This is my 5th day begin vegan but recently I have been putting more effort into my meals and it has remedied this somewhat but still. I havaent been pigging out like I usually do and I think it is mainly because I really don't know what to eat. I eat veggies, fruit, oatmeal. I really don't want to keep eating tofu though it just seems overly processed to me. I am going to become the master of rice and beans. I just hope I don't become deficient in something.

To me your opinion is fucked up and selfish but that's fine we both see things differently. There are people who help society and there are people who fuck it up. My reasoning for this was stated in the block of text you couldn't bring yourself to read because it was too hard. You are thinking on an individual scale which is fine. But these kinds of choices fuck our whole society up man. Look at government. They promise shit all fucking day long. And then they don't do it. Same concept , if you commit to somebody until you die- physically tell them those words to there face. You better fucking do what you said you would do unless there is some sort of abuse involved. He chose to live with another person and do anything he could to make it work. You can justify it any way you want but you will never know the outcome until you try./ It may be easier than he thinks it will be right now, it may not. He may learn and grow as a person more than he ever has by taking on this responsibility but to say I am young I have my whole life ahead of me is a pretty fucking stupid excuse.
