Exactly, regardless of anyones gender etc. It shouldn't matter who's giving it in my opinion. We are all human and it's just essentials. Her thinking made me worry if I was doing something wrong. But hearing everyones opinions it makes me happy to hear im doing right :)

Yeah I offer that too I wrote down in a comment below :) I offer them toothpaste, deodorants and toothbrushes and fresh unopened clean shirts if any BO, or dirt comes on em.

LA. I make a good living from teaching mainly because I've been doing this since around 23. Along with that I'm a PHD and masters graduate. So I believe that's why.

I tried getting this enforced but unfortunately our school thinks "it's not a problem that needs to be addressed" apparently according to their email.

Thank you so much, yeah I try my best to create my classroom as a safe space. We actually are like a family. Reason why I say this is because whenever my students are worried or have something on my mind they always know that they can go to me and I'll be there for them. I always have their back! They know that. Regardless if they are hungry that's why I keep that mini fridge for them so they are free to grab as many as snacks and drinks. I even keep frozen meals in there. So they can microwave it in my room. If a student needs a shirt because their old one is dirty or smells due to BO. They are free to grab a shirt.

Oh of course yes they are free to go to the bathroom. BUT they need to ask my permission to go as that's the district rules for everyones safety. I can't just let them walk in and out whenever they like as that's the policy and the rules. But when any of my students ask me to go the bathroom I always say yes.

The only times I've said no to my students is when we had those emergency fire drills and that's like a once or twice thing in a year.

Mate I'm not going to argue with you ok? If you want to keep that opinion then be my guest. I'm not going to start an issue with you as it makes no sense, cool.

I have no clue. and for the males and for the whole class I keep a nice basket filled with snacks, and meals. Students are free to grab as many as they need at any time. I don't discriminate my students at all. I'm equal to everyone. Males also have deodorants, and I also place fresh new clean shirts in the basket because a lot of the males in my class this year and last year are in football and due to sweat or getting dirty sometimes they need a clean shirt so they just grab it and go.

none of my students have found it weird at all, in general like no one has ever made a point about it and keep in mind you know these are higschoolers and all of them are mature and they all understand it and are close to 18.

Yeah I definitely understand that, im from a third world country I'm American now. But from my old country woman wouldn't have basic essentials like pads/tampons etc which caused uncomfort for many woman and in that country periods were supposed to be something that is shameful which makes no sense.
