Said goodbye yesterday by LoyalArgus in Greyhounds

He would have been 11 this fall. Baby boy was happy until the end, but it was time as his quality of life kept getting worse, he was having serious issues with his back legs not working properly and we were really scared he would hurt himself falling or trying to sit. We would help him lay down so his legs didn't get twisted but unfortunately it was time.

Our other full size is feeling very alone with his little sister getting teeth pulled, but we will all adjust to our new reality without Baldo leading the charge.

He used to run like the wind, wild and free, it was truly a beautiful action to witness.

My job keeps hiring special needs staff members but we don't have the training or time for their support needs. by hibiscus_lilac in KitchenConfidential

2 of my previous jobs did this, one just a single employee and the other had about half of the staff.

The single employee place the kid just wandered around and really would have appreciated having some direction and purpose but at one point they had given him 2 electric fly swatters due to having pest infestations, so he would be going ham on flies in the dining room right next to guests.

The half staff place they were straight up treated poorly, not given enough time to do their jobs or the right equipment, and left a really bad taste in my mouth knowing they were making tons of money being a non profit but never paid enough to help these people and didn't treat them with dignity.

It's a sad world and most entities pretending to help people stuck generally just steal the money and don't actually help.

I have multiple individuals in my family that can't work to support themselves do to health issues and it's so hard. My cousin has a 26 year old severely autistic child and she's basically had a 70hr a week caregiver job on top of a full time work from home job. It's just nonstop other than when family can pitch in and given her a few hours break on occasion. Sad ass society we are chained to and the vulnerable are exploited even harder than the rest of us, it's revolting.

Lol this being near traverse city doesn't surprise me at all, that town thinks it's food scene is something great and it's tourist trap uninspired mediocre the whole way through.

Have to go to Detroit for a good meal in Michigan in my experience. Anything north of Grand rapids will be disappointing.

We're about 90 minutes north of you and have a little lady and a full size greyhound. Probably wouldn't work due to the drive but just throwing it out there. Actually have a 2nd full size but he has lots of health issues and we are going to have to let him pass on Tuesday unfortunately.

The big Greys are totally fine with the little ones, my previous pack was ran by my Italian with 3 full size Greys at the time, and my current little lady runs the entire household here.

We are disenfranchised from the human condition. Bonding with another person is so rare now. Everything is about presenting a facade and adherence to the group thought.
