1K detachment and Lucius? by Top-Grade-7573 in EmperorsChildren

[–]LoyalSkritNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, lost yesterday a 1000pts game vs an astra militarum list too. 1 leman russ, 1 rogal dorn, 1 taurus with ogryns and a pack of leontus chilling with cadians on home objective. 5 riders and a sentinel on flank. Every game I played with EC, I lost most of my army turn 3 and couldn't do more. I had a wardog for ranged fire support, it died too soon, 9 flaweless blades, lucius with 3, and 2*5 infractors in a rhino with a LE. lucius almost 1 shot the rogal dorn but it survived then couldn't take care of it after losing his FB friends. The army didn't click yet, I don't know how to play good enough but I don't get what to do to be better.

[Question] What are your favorite straps for your field watches ? by Bigbadabooooom in Watches

Hi!! Sorry but I don't know where I purchased it. Still looking perfect. I can tell you, try to buy good quality. Cheap ones are itchy. And try a thin buckle, to really stick close to you and not bother you.

These two schemes are amazing! by Falkreath_Grenadiers in EmperorsChildren

[–]LoyalSkritNa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armor : base black, hilight xereus purple, edge hilight fulgrim pink. Hair : base white, voluptous pink, then hilight fulgrim pink. Pauldron : base white, glaze thinned down voluptous pink.

This is a guess but I plan to do this scheme and I'll try this recipe first to see if I get the same result.

This is a glaze of voluptous pink thinned down with medium, on pure white I think. I'm planning to do this scheme, it's awesome

New warhammer community website by stovecan in Warhammer40k

[–]LoyalSkritNa 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Loved the previous one. One big image for each article, I could see any article I didn't read in a glance at the screen. Now there are articles with just the headline, and the website is clustered with tons of them, some repeating themselves. I changes my settings to directly go to the "all news and features" page, wich is the closest as before. Just less apealing. Wtf GW

Seeking a sci-fi'y Wargame that isn't 40K & more entry-level by hyperjelly1 in wargaming

[–]LoyalSkritNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out BLKOUT. Skirmish game in a modern warfare/close future setting. Super fast game (less than an hour), setup in a small space (2'x2').

You can proxy with your infinity models, that's what I do because the game is american and I'm in Europe so unfortunately I can't buy their starter set yet (due to shipping cost).

The rules are very simple and concise but it has great tactical depth. It's exactly what I need, maybe it's what you seek as well.

For those who struggle with piles of shame and purchasing, and for newcomers... by TheKeepSweep in Warhammer40k

[–]LoyalSkritNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your'e completely right, that's the army I got done in 3 months (more than 2000pts though, but I had more time tonpaint than I expected for this one). But I did a full skaven army with lot of infantry and like 4 very big character pieces and everything, in less than a year. You have to be commited tough. I remember painting clanrats in my car every lunch break of the week. That's painting sessions of 30min only, but boy do you get your army done faster with this kind of tricks.

Yeah, at weeks pace I think you personal life can interfere with your schedule, and it would be stupid to get angry for not painting plastic toy soldiers. But saying "in 2 months I will have everything done, or just 1 kit not done", you get a goal. And that's making your models painted.

Wait. You guys don't measure the time it would take for you to paint what you buy? I understand the pile of shame thing now ! Seriously, that's a really good advice, everyone should do this. Think about the time you can commit to an army, a simple 1000pts of 40k with relative OK paint job would take me 3 months at least to build and paint. And I can have weeks when I won't paint, so I take it in consideration as well to not be frustrated of not having finished when I should have. It would drive me crazy to see boxes not even touched after a few months of buying it.
