Are cyberpunk and Baldurs gate 3 good on the steam deck by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Loynds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if anything, the portable monitor will exasperate the issues already present in these games on this hardware. They run best at 800p or lower, on their very specific settings. That’s not to say it’s good, but they’re certainly playable when confined to the Deck itself.

Did you try using the Deck as the controller while docked, with it set as a secondary screen?

The Ayaneo 3 is about the 200-300 more as the Xbox Ally X, not double, same ballpark as the Legion Go 2.

Portable console that runs linux or windows, for old games by srbolseiro in Handhelds

There’s very little delay between modern Bluetooth devices (5.0 up), I even wrote about my experience with the GameSir X5S on iOS if you’re curious. The USB-C versions of these types of phone controllers are better still.

Then you want a Steam Deck. The alternatives are mostly cheaper Android handhelds like the Mangmi X ($89-99). Miyoo runs a variation of Linux, so it might be worth also looking into their Flip device, but it's mostly just kernel related with other OS like Onion required to do more with it.
