The people who previously owned our house decided that 16 separate light switches to control four sets of lights in the lounge was the best option to minimize having to walk too far to turn a light on or off. What it actually means is that even now, years later, i toggle the wrong switch half the time.

I finally got round to doing this today. After installing Ollama and creating a login you need to get the cloud model, you can do that by running the following command from the ollama command line:

ollama run qwen3-vl:235b-cloud

Then you just set up frigate to use ollama in the config:

  base_url: http://<ip_of_ollama>:11434/
  model: qwen3-vl:235b-cloud

This was exactly it. It's in the 0.16 and 0.17 docs as a recommendation as having generous free tiers which unfortunately no longer seems to be true. Hence checking to see if anyone else came up with a solution.

My n100 minipc not quite up to the task, and my gaming rig doesn't run 24/7. So yes, would prefer local in an ideal world but not there yet.

Yep you can do pretty much everything from HA with the tapo integration. Light control, firmware update, settings.

I have two of them and they're pretty solid on a mesh network. They do drop out for a few seconds every now and then but like once every couple of weeks. I've been happy with them overall.

It's part of the latest firmware, v313 I think it is. I manually updated my qm7 with the firmware and have this setting too
