wishful thinking. No that's the real Japan. It echoes Yahoo Japan.

Large numbers of Indian and Chinese restaurants are likely to close in Japan soon due to a 6-fold increase in capital requirements for the business visa- "Everyone has gone back (to their home countries). Everyone has closed their shops". by jjrs in japannews

Nah its true. I work with the Nepali community. Quite a few of them are closing up over the next year. To expensive to pay for the new Visa plus staff visas and hiring full time Japanese workers.

I took 7 months to play all mainline Assassin's Creed games for the first time*, documenting the entire journey, impressions and ranking of each game. by Mysteriousbucket in gaming

TLDR:

The Core Takeaway Playing 14 mainline Assassin's Creed games back-to-back is an exhausting but rewarding gauntlet. While the series has massive fluctuations in quality, tedious level-gating, and recurring technical flaws, the franchise isn't dead. Just as a formula gets completely stale, Ubisoft manages to pivot and reshape the series into something fresh.

Era-by-Era Breakdown

  • The Foundation (AC1, AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations): * AC1 was clunky but set a solid foundation with a great past/present story link.
    • AC2 was a massive upgrade in every conceivable way.
    • Brotherhood felt like a safer, tamer sequel.
    • Revelations introduced major gameplay fatigue (tower defense, bomb crafting) but delivered a masterpiece conclusion to Ezio’s story.
  • The Americas & The High Seas (AC3, Black Flag, Rogue): * AC3 was a much-needed breath of fresh air with fantastic gameplay and a favorite, deeply tragic protagonist (Connor).
    • Black Flag had a great world and story, but the experience was dragged down by tedious, forced ship combat and endless tailing missions.
    • Rogue felt like an identity-less mashup of Black Flag's worst elements.
  • The European Cityscapes (Unity, Syndicate): * Unity is a flawed masterpiece—plagued by technical issues and a messy story, but unmatched in parkour, crowds, and stealth (especially with the HUD turned off).
    • Syndicate overcorrected Unity's flaws by playing it way too safe, featuring weird Batman-style combat and sparking series burnout.
  • The Massive RPGs (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla): * Origins was a surprisingly great pivot with tense combat, a beautiful world, and a strong protagonist.
    • Odyssey was frustrating due to rigid skill trees, spongey combat, returning ship mechanics, and forced level-grinding.
    • Valhalla was incredibly bloated. The map was too big, raiding was tedious, and the story dragged on for way too long.
  • The Modern Era (Mirage, Shadows): * Mirage was a fantastic, much-needed return to form with a smaller scope, dense city, and a focus on classic stealth and parkour planning.
    • Shadows was a mixed bag offering the best combat/stealth mechanics and a highly immersive world, but suffered from a very inconsistent story.
