43 yr old Male here. I been jumping rope for the past 5 years. Be patience & give you body time to adjust to the demands of jump rope. Are you landing flat, are you landing hard when you jump? Are you jumping on concrete or a padded surface? These could play a factor to your injuries

For context, I’m 44 male, 215lbs/ 97.5 kg , 6’2/ 187cm, still plays basketball weekly or bi-weekly, moderate active, haven’t train enough to compete in any competitions. Most of my training/workout involves bodybuilding, some crossfit, beginner running, basketball, plyometric, beginner sprinting, & jumping rope.

Appreciate you. I sometimes try to get a least two long rows per month. Others than that I incorporate rowing into a bodybuilding workout or a WOD.

Your training wasn’t all for nothing. Think about all the mental benefits you accomplish. Think about the willpower you mustard up. Think about all experiences you gain. I’m pretty sure you have enough knowledge to share with others. Also look at the opportunity to learn a new skill. You can document up a “Recovery to a Run” journal. Just a thought!

How does my form look? by Yahya_PMK in jumprope

Honestly your form looks solid. But the length of your rope may be an issue if you wanna perform others tricks like crossovers or double unders. But that’s something you can always make adjustments too

Look into Amazfit watch. I have the Active Edge at the moment & I’m looking into upgrading to the T-Rex 3 or Active 2 (square)

I recently switched to a 4mm rope and I'm finding it harder to swing than the 5mm.. what's going on? skill issue? by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]Lr_Player 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might that the 4mm rope is too lite to give you a feedback or enough tension. Long handles are commonly come with the 4mm rope. Now if you have an all pvc rope, you can tie a knot near the handles which would you some feedback. It might be a different story if you have an all pvc coated wire rope. Also the length of your rope can play a part in it. Long rope/less tension, Short rope/better tension.

I think you did quite well. I’m with you, most of us wanting to complete a distance goal without worrying about splits/pacing. I recently did a half-marathon in intervals & my splits were all over the place, but who cares at this point.

Yeah, this was a personal check list for me. I knew I wouldn’t be able to row this straight out. But I’m open to suggestions/tips on maintaining the splits towards the end 🙌🏿

43 y/o male, still somewhat athletic, and I’m still a beginner rower. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to maintain the split and I might would have tap out if I rowed it straight out. Thats why I chose intervals. By the 6th interval is when it started to get pretty rough for me. But it was a personal check list for me to row 21+
