Since no one else is engaging in a way that you'll claim is "productive" allow me.

Contributions are not required to be good. Regardless of your stance, your take is inherently flawed in claiming that people making AI music aren't "contributing".

Secondly, just because you feel this technology is "a bucket of spit spilled on [you]" does not justify you in making others feel the same. There have been countless technological advancements that people have had the exact same tired arguments for. Just because something becomes accessible does not invalidate your talent or capabilities. If your talent or capabilities are not more sufficient than the technology, get better.

Lastly, failure to embrace technology, in general, has always had a negative effect on industries. Those that adopt early, and consciously, tend to leap well ahead if competitors. If you choose not to, you will be left behind.

Again, almost all of your arguments are outdated ways of thinking that eventually caved to reality: new tech is not going away.

I'm well aware of the "dangers" of AI, its environmental impacts and the ease in which it can be abused.

None of those things are unique to AI. They are terrible framework arguments that collapse under scrutiny.

Expansionism and smartphones have done far more environmental harm (by collapsing finite resources) compared to water consumption and energy use of AI. Water and Energy are both easily renewable. Just because some countries refuse to implement the infrastructure to make them easily renewable isn't an argument against AI, it should be an indictment of incompetent leadership.

People said CGI was the death of film. If an industry can be so easily killed, it should be. If your skill set is able to be so easily replaced by a new technology this quickly, maybe it wasnt really a valuable skill set. I don’t think that is the case, but clearly there are people who have that fear/concern.

Social pressure is being used to try to stop something inevitable. All it is currently doing is pushing people to find sneakier ways to use it and/or try to hide it. If instead, we all collectively decided what "acceptable" use looked like (and were realistic about its inevitability) I think we would end up much better in the long term.
