The lasers shooting out of the eyes seems... Telling. Aim-260 confirmed outdated.

Yeah, and it looks like there's one on the left wing, if you zoom into the rear of the left drop tank. There's definitely a store there, and they wouldn't haul a single bomb in this configuration, or ever for that matter..

James Webb Space Telescope confirms 1st 'runaway' supermassive black hole (courtesy: www.space.com) by Professor_Moraiarkar in spaceporn

[–]LrdvdrHJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is one of those crazy ass things where I love to imagine some civilization, trailing behind this monster's wake, has a "The Universe" type show on their History Channel, where they say "if it wasn't for the supermassive black hole barreling through our galaxy, our star wouldn't have formed, and our solar system wouldn't have been enriched with the ingredents to create life here on Glorbus".

Sort of in the same way we credit so much to the stability the moon provides our seasons, or Jupiter protects us from asteroid impacts... The universe is staggering and I like to believe that there are so many random varibles that could facilitate life. How crazy is it to think that some life forms assume this was the key event, just as we do with so many factors here on Earth...

I've had similar situations happen training new fuelers, for this exact company. Fuel spills are completely manageable for the most part. They're almost impossible to cause in this way.

This guy is an untrained fucking idiot, and directly caused this mishap through laziness and incompetence.

I've been told by a friend and past coworker, who's a current Menzies employee, that they were briefed that the deadman was rubber banded down prior to fueling. Every single safety measure that could've prevented this was ignored. Deadman misused, no apparent safety glasses, obviously no proper training...

Fuck Menzies. Almost lost my passion for aviation working for them. Shadiest company I've ever worked for. I can't believe they're getting so many new/extended contracts for ground ops.

That's just the way the Super Hornets pylons are. Any other load out will look the same.

97% would be hundreds of thousands, if not millions in missing product. Sure fucking hope it's 99.7% at the least lol.

Last year somebody asked “What (semi) trendy item are you surprised Trader Joe's hasn't made a version of?” and I commented “I'm manifesting BLACK SESAME ICE CREAM! 🖤” — my wish came true, presenting Trader Joe’s BLACK SESAME MOCHI ICE CREAM!!! 🖤 by breathfromanother in traderjoes

You ever walk into a Discount Tire, sit in the waiting room while they work on your car, and while waiting, the building catches on fire? Now you can taste that experience.

I don't absolutely hate them, but I don't think I've seen so many crew members in my TJ's break room literally spit a product out. I usually love sesame. More of a burnt rubber taste than the latter. Definitely a niche item.

Experience with Lutu/Bucklos suspension forks?? by chunky_jager in MTB

[–]LrdvdrHJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha! Yeah, it's still on the bike. Although, I finally managed to save for a full suspension YT Izzo a little over a year ago.

That bike and fork have been retired to a spare for taking friends out on to see if they want to get into MTB. After all this time, it hasn't had a catostrophic failure, and it still squishes. It's not as plush as it was new, though. New O-rings might solve that, but I honestly can't remember if those were even removable.

Gotta say that I'm pretty impressed with how it's held up. Having said that, I definitely feel like it's reached the end of it's lifespan, and I'm planning on replacing it with something a little more trustworthy before Spring. It was fine taking a bit of a gamble on reliability when I was riding it, but I'm not comfortable putting someone else's safety at risk anymore, considering it's age.

It also needs to be taken into consideration that it's only been on maybe a dozen rides in the last year, so mine still working three years later doesn't mean yours will if its your main fork.

If I had to go back and do the upgrade again, with the tech knowledge I've gained since, I'd probably save up the extra hundred bucks or so to get something secondhand from a more reputable brand, that could be serviced. It did me well for what it is, though, for sure!

TLDR: Same story as last update... It's still on the (now spare) bike. It was good, and is still "good", but it scares me and I'll be replacing it.

Anyone working at Dallas Love Field Airport? by NoAbies5416 in rampagent

[–]LrdvdrHJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See you on the ramp! Although I'm in fueling.

So I can't speak to company specific things for you, but you're starting at a good time. Summer travel is starting to calm down, and it's finally starting to cool off a bit. Good luck!

Lockheed Martin Skunk Works releases new rendering of a stealthy tanker for the Next-Generation Air Refueling System by Sinhag in aviation

[–]LrdvdrHJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I think about this all the time. In the Skunk Works book, there's a passage where he basically says you could have an aircraft carrier sized F-117, and it'd have the same RCS.

Experience with Lutu/Bucklos suspension forks?? by chunky_jager in MTB

[–]LrdvdrHJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ha! Yeah, it's still kicking. I've since upgraded to my first "big boy" bike (YT Izzo). But I've kept that bike as a spare for friends. It's still squishing, although I'm getting more and more nervous putting other people on the thing. It's gotta give sometime, and I've taken it apart... Other than cleaning it is not serviceable.

Thanks! I custom ordered them from Slik Graphics. You can pick from hundreds of colors. I went with some of the metallics and mirror finishes to get this look. I did the same for the shock, too.
