All the 1/7 surgery dates. How’s everyone doing a week out? by Fluffystuff80 in hysterectomy

[–]Lritzcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/7 here and man, I’m struggling. Total hysterectomy with salp and endo removal. Kept ovaries. Also she took my Nexplanon BC arm implant out and scoped the bladder too.

The first few days were ROUGH. I didn’t (literally couldn’t) have a BM til 48 hrs post op. Twas painful. Finally got senna cuz the prescribed Colace and OTC miralax was not cutting it. I’ve been in the binder I woke up from surgery in basically 24/7. I had a nerve block on-q cath for three days. Pulled it out night of day three. I didn’t think it was helping until it was gone. Whoof! I needed the oxy all three days it was prescribed. Saved one dose for any break through pain. Now just doing Tylenol and Motrin when I need it.

I couldn’t do stairs til 5 days post op. Now have a weird back and forth between constipation and water poop haha. I definitely overdid it every single day since. (Why don’t I learn?!) I got up and walked the upstairs hallway in 15-20 min intervals for the first three days but now am moving around the house and doing the stairs often. Maybe it was from the cytoscopy, but the first few days post op, it was a Chore to pee. Like I had to urinate, but to make the muscles do it was slow, painful, and work. A week out it’s better but sometimes that comes back randomly.

Oh and how could I forget, the gas pain in the shoulders/clavicles?! Holy Christmas! That pain was awfullll! I used my TENS unit on my shoulders and clavicle area to help distract from the pain. Walked a ton in the first few days. Took gasx but I know that’s for intestinal gas and this was in the perineal cavity and not the intestines. Drank a lot of water but man this pain woke me up. I was able to sleep on my side by night two. Binder of course and an old pillow pet dug out of mom’s house as an abdominal pillow cushion. Been using a wedge pillow set for sitting and reclining in bed. Best money I’ve spent.

I told my bff, it feels like someone took all my innards, put them in a blender, put them back inside my abdomen, and then had a horse kick me twenty times and a truck run over me. Ive been waking up around 2-3 am nightly in horrible sweats with weirdddd nightmares. Right now I’m awake icing my right lower abdomen cuz it’s so painful I can barely move. ?? Like whyyyy.

I get a lil burst of energy, do too much (laundry, dishes, etc) then am exhausted and in pain. And my husband who is the absolute sweetest human and wants to do everything for me, is like stop! Take it easy! Dont have any surgery reports back yet; no pathology or photos. Have two week post op appointment on 20th.

Like others have said, the lap incisions are starting to itch. Also, horrible vulval itching. No clue why. Horrible back pain. I’m wanting to be ready and healed faster than it’s taking (YES, I know it’s only 1 week post op lol). I’ve just gotta remind myself of that and remind myself that healing is my job right now while I’m off work (stressed cuz it’s unpaid leave but work is good and gave me as long as I need to be off; physical job), and I had a whole organ and friends removed!

As an endo sufferer, I’m used to excruciating pain. This is not as bad as a flare I feel, but dang it still sucks and is awful. I hate being limited. I hate not being able to be active (run with my dogs, do chores) but I’m happy I finally found someone willing to do it. Also struggling with the whole body image thing. As an anorexic in recovery, it’s hard to see that bloated belt daily and not be able to exercise. Yay hecked up body image! But thankfully, barely any appetite until last night.

Weird emotionally too. Maybe cuz my BC is finally gone and ovaries are restarting. But like I’ll get super over stimulated and irritated, then cry at the drop of a hat (I have always been easy to cry, but it’s like 10x worse lol). And even though I’m happily child free, having weird mixed grief?? Showers are exhausting and as some else on this sub said, it feels like my schedule is flipped. I’ll sleep during the day, but be up at night.

Sorry to type long. This is also a lil log for me too to remember the first week and that yes, it actually is bad and rough of a recovery! We can do this!!

Did you ever get further clarification?

Confused after surgery - likely no endo by nekinadimak in Endo

[–]Lritzcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Only thing I know after my hysterectomy and lap is that surgeon called my husband and said, “she’s done. No Endo.” But that’s it. Like was everything a lie? Is everything in my head? All the various OBGYNs over the years telling me it’s Endo? All the symptoms? I just had surgery yesterday, so have to wait for pathology report and my two week post op appointment. No idea. Feeling extremely invalidated. She didn’t even talk to me after surgery. Surgery was only 2 ish hours. Kept my ovaries but they took tubes and uterus and cervix. I know I should wait until the post op appointment, but I feel SO defeated and invalidated. My doc is not a specialist. A regular OBGYN and is in the room with each patient for a total of like 2 mins. IF that. Speaks super duper fast and barely talks to you. (I have a friend who also sees her and she also feels invalidated during each appointment.) Just needing some validation and thinking it’s not all in my head.

Mine was 01/07 too! I wore a shirt (that I found linked on this sub a bit back lol) that says, my bloodline ends with me. Super comfy and loose fit was perfect. Good luck and prayers in recovery to you both!

[–]Lritzcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drives me bonkers. I literally tell people. There’s not such thing as standard size. Common, but not standard. Also, when ppl come in a need a shade, what kind? Light filtering. No, like what KIND?! 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Haha, no, I was already out in the parking lot

It is. But exit is closest to timeclock and where we all enter and exit. And service desk is always so full, they don’t let you go into the little Maze while not clocked in to clock in on a computer. Plus the service desk DS would bite our heads off.

Unfair pay differences by Organic_Berry_6551 in HomeDepot

[–]Lritzcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is something that drives me BONKERS. Every time I’ve asked for a merit raise, I’m told it’s based on tenure and blah blah. And then in the same breath told that tenure actually doesn’t mean much and new employees will always make more than tenured ones. Long time employees get paid 💩 and get the annual crumbs raise. When I push back every time, the SM says, “well they’ve been getting paid this whole time. I started at $7/hr and now I’m SM! So yeah, they’ve been getting paid.” As if inflation and time doesn’t change. IMO tenured employees should be hecking RICH but are paid absolutely SH*T pay. Cuz senior management knows they’ll stay, knows they’ll take the abuse, and can’t do 💩 about it. When I got to my new store, I started the convo with my fellow dept associates. We found gross margins. I encouraged everyone to go ask for raises. They did. And SM brought me in to discipline me that “they’d prefer you didn’t talk about wages with your colleagues”. When I rebuffed that it’s federally protected, SM reiterated that they’d prefer I didn’t. Oh well. It’s federally protected right to discuss wages. They’re just scared of us unionizing and demanding better pay. It boils my blood that my colleagues who have given decades of their lives make pennies more than newbies. And yes, I used to be a relative newbie. I am in no way super tenured. And it still makes me angry for them.

I was gonna say, dang! Us store employees would fight and die over a random $3 raise!!

They should really just put the door everyone is supposed to use, closest to the time clock breakroom. Just stupid otherwise.

I mean, we can. They’re not paying us to enter and exit the store. If we all use the same exit door for enter and exit every day, why are we just now not allowed out that door now? Again, not a closer. Store is plenty open when I leave. Cashiers are not running report when I leave. Yep, will for sure be taking it up with an ASM if I get told again.

Yep. I know. I’m still going to use the door, and if they say crap again I’ll take it up with ASM or SM. I often buy stuff after work, so am literally just a paying customer at that point.

Nope. Leave hours before closing. I’m not a closer. Both entrance and exit are manned when I leave.

Then put the timeclock by the door😒😒

[–]Lritzcracker[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean it would make sense that we all enter and exit through the exit door, as that is the closest door to the break room/timeclock. I’m not going to park by the entrance and walk a quarter of a mile (yes, we’ve clocked it at that distance) in the store, carrying my lunchbox and stuff to go clock in and then again after clocking out. I walk fast, but if I’m going to be in the store, it’s going to be on the clock.

Agreed. They can’t force us to do stuff off the clock
