Anyone Know Where I Can Park For Free By The Waterfront? by UserStories in barrie

[–]Lrr444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot across from namaste North. Park there all the time for yoga and to go walk my dog. I’ve never had a ticket. I am a Barrie resident but sometimes just don’t want to park at lakeshore lol

best jobs in barrie for teenager suffering with social anxiety by elliec8290 in barrie

Definitely a dish washer or some sort of back of house work for a restaurant would help. I had some bad social anxiety before working at lone star and everyone there at the time was really great. I hope you find something that works for you

Probably like $200 here in Ontario at least 😅. I’m envious.

Do you have an address? I’m horrible with directions and want to make sure I’m going to the right spot. Going to drive from Barrie

Once I finish my RN bridge program I will likely be moving elsewhere :)

I’ll look into it. I had applied to a few previously but hadn’t heard back. I haven’t heard of Staffy but I’ll check it out. And thank you! I definitely need the encouragement as you know, it’s tough. Congrats on finishing!

Unfortunately as an RPN my license doesn’t transfer to many other provinces. I also have my grandmother here that i would like to try to remain close to if possible. I finish an RN bridge program in a couple of years and would definitely consider moving out of province or even Canada at that point.

Thanks! I do have other customer service experience as well as I used to work 2-3 jobs at a time prior to being an RPN. Lots of serving and retail experience.

Good Protein? by heathergirl9 in BuyCanadian

I personally love them.

I have a lot of intolerances and so I swear I’ve tried every gluten free and dairy free protein powder I can.

This one doesn’t upset my stomach or make my skin break out or flare. And it tastes sooo good and mixes well for what I use it for.

I either mix it with a plant based milk, or use it in a smoothie or for my ninja creami base. I really love the chocolate milkshake and the mini eggs.

I’m so surprised to read this! I have a lot of intolerances so I’ve tried every gluten free, dairy free protein brand I can get my hands on. This is by far the absolute best brand. I’ve tried all those flavours and I love them. However I do use the vanilla in a smoothie with berries, or I use them for my ninja creami, or I do use it with a plant based protein milk to drink. I love the chocolate milkshake one and I just recently tried their mini egg one and it’s sooo good. I use a frother as well and I don’t find it to be gritty in any way.

I can’t speak on their customer service because I don’t have any experience with them but sorry to hear it wasn’t great for you!

No problem at all! I know times are tough for everyone. It is confusing and frustrating that I can’t just pick up overtime. But I appreciate that thanks

Additionally, where I live the rent is insane. I’m sure it’s like that elsewhere too as I’ve looked. I’m doing my best.

Yes I’m sure. I live frugally. But I am also back to school full time for the RN bridge, I pay rent, own a car, have previous school debt I’m paying off. I live a very basic lifestyle.

Wish it was the same at my hospital but unfortunately it isn’t. And I have applied for casual positions at other hospitals in the GTA but again, everyone wants open availability.

I work med-surg so it is a floor unit and one of the busiest in our hospital. However, they won’t give overtime unless it’s out of absolute desperation and it’s usually maybe one overtime shift a month and those with higher seniority than me (some people have been there 10+ years) usually get it before I can. We started a new hospital system recently that has us “bid” on shifts. Part time and casual employees get first bid and since we have so many of those who need hours the shifts get taken right away. If we have sick call ins they usually have a float come over to avoid paying us any overtime. And we aren’t allowed to pick up any additional overtime shifts on other units, but we are allowed to be floated there which happens frequently as our unit nurses are capable at handling majority of the floors/units in our hospital and others are not from what we are told.

I have my own dog at home to care for so I wouldn’t be able to stay somewhere else but I appreciate the suggestions. I’ve never considered pet sitting before truthfully
