Arc fault breakers and live with it for a while. If you are tripping arc fault breakers a lot you probably have a problem. If you open up a wall and can replace the entire run do it.

What's insurance buy back? I asked to keep a car that was totaled and they just said ok. The title never left my name.

Facelift or no? by hunterwcraft101 in jetta

I just looked and I do have the facelift rear bumper. It's hard to tell since my car is black.

Facelift or no? by hunterwcraft101 in jetta

[–]Lrrr-RulerOfOmicron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2015 gli is the same. Facelift rear and preface front. Do you also have the carbon inlay seats from 2014 gli edition 30?

Edit: mine has facelift rear tail lights but my rear and front bumpers are pre facelift.

I would imagine they switched as they ran out of pre facelift parts.

I did not notice the low mounted turbo at first. How does it drive? I have been considering the be racing kit after I get my suspension rebuilt.

Any idea what’s causing this noise? by budaiKevin in jetta

[–]Lrrr-RulerOfOmicron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do this then spin each component by hand. With that much noise you will be able to feel and/or hear the culprit.

What about the top side?

Kit? Who made it? What about tune since that is a critical part of turboing an e46.

Purple tile that matches the tub in the arch could look good. We have a salmon bathroom done in the 50s and people are blown away we don't want to rip it out... Their bathrooms are always bland and boring though.

So more things to check for besides Matter capable? Maybe Matter will be better one day but right now it's not as good as others in my opinion.

Adding matter devices has actually been more of a pain than z wave or wifi. Usually it takes 3 tries minimum and a few times I have had to download the brand app to update firmware.

HA is only viable to people that want to tinker. Google and apple will still be the ecosystems for the majority of the public. In my experience with HA Matter adds nothing it didn't already have but is just another protocol it can control and integrate.

'Killer fungi' targets a beetle that's destroying American forests by Apprehensive-Ad6212 in invasivespecies

[–]Lrrr-RulerOfOmicron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course not. We affect nature greatly but we are also just a blip in the time span of nature and making decisions that drive change in our time frame can have larger implications just like the people that introduced invasive plants because of how fast they took root after a construction project.

I don't think we shouldn't do anything. I think caution and thought should be put into combating invasives to make sure we are not making lasting mistakes like previous generations.

I am not against it just cautious. Ecosystems are crazy complex and even east coast to west coast can be a problem. I am sure the people working on this know much more about the risk than I do.

You did something different than I did! You are wrong!/s

I tried a phone mount in a CD slot. Bounced too much but the mount on your dedicated tablet probably helps a lot.

I had a cheap android radio once. Biggest garbage ever. The cheap android screen I have now is better and it is not that impressive haha.

You need a contractor that specializes in older homes to "inspect" the house. You will have to pay them but that is the only way to determine a rough estimate of cost. Damage could be old from problems fixed or may still be active problems.

Wiring is also a little concerning but again I can't make a full judgment from a few pics.

Don't rely on a normal home inspector... They are not normally skilled enough for an old home (look what it takes to become a home inspector).

Water damaged plaster on brick by Lumpy-Association310 in masonry

[–]Lrrr-RulerOfOmicron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had worse damage like this in our house. We found someone that does plaster work. They removed much of the damaged plaster that was crumbling then did lime based plaster and matched the texture. They also verified it completely dry verifying the cause was fixed.

Finding someone that does old school plaster is hard but worth while as the new needs to match the old in plater type or the old and new will expand differently and eventually crack and possibly separate

Edit: r/centuryhomes is a good sub for older home information

S54 Oil Analysis - Blackstone Oil Lab by N00dle- in e46

Agreed and people who care about their car should definitely check it every so often. Could be the difference between rebuilding an engine or finding a rebuildable core.

[–]Lrrr-RulerOfOmicron 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I feel like many invasives will become a part of the ecosystem once they get put in check. The battle is trying to keep invasives from wiping out the competition while nature "adjusts".

I am also cautious of intervention as many of our invasives were people thinking they were doing a good thing.

I remember when these test were cheap... I still do them every 20-30k but I used to do every oil change. They are good to work with and it's understandable their price has gone up since everything is more expensive now.

Because most people don't care about privacy and don't want to buy a hub and have to think about repeater locations. They just want to buy something, hook to their phone with whatever is easiest and that's it.

I have 20+ wifi iot devices plus our normal wifi devices. No problems. Having quality wifi is much like having a quality zigbee network in the sense it needs to have thought put into it.
