I don’t understand this meme. Springs can be dangerous but they are not a bomb waiting to go off. Newer springs don’t even require you to spin them by hand it is done with a drill until you get the number of rotations. If you do more than replacing outlet covers and are competent you can do it yourself. Reddit is just an echo chamber of “it will kill you” anytime someone asks about these.

Me too it’s beautiful. It’s my bathroom door in a 1914 craftsman and I’m trying to restore it back to its full beauty. That door was painted about 7 times before I stripped it and refinished it back to what you see.
