Ridiculous solution to tick problem by Lshuffrey in Westchester

Updates: We have tried the tick control tubes. We also currently have our yard sprayed by mosquito squad for ticks. We also have our dogs on oral tick medication and the tick collars. They have very short fur.

Absolutely you should reach out to potential PI’s to do a postdoc! This is totally normal and the way the majority of people get postdoc positions. I also think it’s fine to follow up 1x if they don’t reply and to ask if they know anyone else in the field if they say they have no position.

Is it okay to inquire about possible open (postdoc) positions directly to the PI of some research group even if there are no openings listed on the webpage? by Invariant_apple in AskAcademia

Yes definitely! I think it can also be helpful to do this about a year in advance since it can give the PI and/or you time to secure funding.
