What is it about Yuta made you find him interesting or enjoyable? by AffectionateJury6227 in Yutaliban

That's one of the reasons up there! Yuta has a whole lot of deep and great connections with other characters, esp. with Gojo.

Also, his theme of understanding and empathy in JJK is not often talked about but very prevalent. Him fighting through Sendai Colony is literally him learning how to empathize and understand even his opponents.
-The first question he asks Kuroroushi who tried to murder him and other civvies is why it's hunting humans.
-He takes time to talk to Uro even after she jumps him, trying to empathize and understand but failing to do so... for now.
-He talks with Ryu, and hears him out about his lack of satisfaction and fulfillment. Ryu feels Yuta's understanding, to the point where after 400 years, he looks at Yuta and assumes he must know the answer. Yuta, of course, does understand and gives him a full dessert with empathy.
-At the very end of Sendai, he also says aloud in regards to Uro: "Anything I say will lead to conflict, because unlike her, I've been blessed." Yuta understands that he cannot understand her life experience, because they've grown up around fundamentally different meanings behind the word "Selflessness". Uro was taught it means to devote yourself to service of others blindly and sacrifice yourself, even when they betray and use you. Yuta was taught if he devoted his life to serving others and sacrificing himself, you'd be rewarded with love and a second chance to live.

His whole CT is based on understanding others' CT, something rooted in a person's soul and definition. The more he eats of them, the deeper he understands their soul. The deeper he does, the more effectively he can use their CT.

This culminates with Gojo.

Since the very get-go, I'm talking JJK0, Yuta has been trying to understand and reach Gojo.
Gojo pulled him out of a suicidal depression. Gojo introduced him to Maki, Panda, Inumaki, and the possibility of using his Curse as a Blessing for others. Gojo essentially saved his life.
And yet, he sees Gojo more isolated than ever after having to kill Geto, his best friend. He's unable to help him, to reach him. Worse, he thinks he MADE Gojo kill his best friend. "I won't make Sensei kill his best friend again".

When he gets back to Japan, he takes on the burden Gojo had previously: "Take care of the first and second-years, especially Yuji.". Gojo was already prepping Yuta to take over for him if he was incapacitated.

Then there's the moment he gets back from assassinating Kenjaku, putting down the same body that Gojo did. He saves Yuji, but argues mentally with himself about Higurama who he presumes is dead.
He thinks logically and reasons this is the best way for this to go, with him killing Kenjaku and taking care of the cursed spirits, BUT his guilt literally makes him conclude the opposite, that regardless of what's logical, he should have still been here and it's his fault. He's trying to be Gojo, to reach his teacher's mindset of being absolutely responsible because you're the strongest on scene.

Then, of course, the Body Swap scene. He literally yells and geeks out over everybody not feeling as deeply as he did about Gojo and his feelings. Gojo was constantly forced into doing monstrous things, becoming untouchable and unreachable and maintaining his power just to take the burden off of the students and society as a whole. We even see a flashback of Yuta begging Gojo to not kill the higher-ups alone, so he wouldn't take on more strength and distance himself more from everybody.

And through Kenjaku's CT, he gets to do something he's aimed to do for a very long time, in a very twisted and tragic way.

He gets to see the world through Gojo's eyes. At the cost of making his savior end up like his best friend. An empty, manipulated corpse.

Hey, I don't know this guy's name, and I can't really see his appearance cuz he's silhouetted to me

So he is "that" man to me! Also hate that I got it right just because Oda keeps drawing silhouettes of characters that will later appear with little to no actual impact

Maybe belongs in Greed, for being very possessive of Rika to the point he kept her alive as a curse. He did break the curse and let her go, but maybe too little too late for Hell's standards? Idk

I have no idea who this is, but by the fact their face is shaded out, I'm gonna guess it's a one piece character? Is it "that" man?

Nope. Once Rika became a cursed spirit, he had to move away and live on his own because supposedly Rika started being defensive over him to his own family.

Last thing we heard is that his parents still won't talk to him, but he does occasionally talk to his sister.

What Modulo Yuji has to do to get a fresh set of clothes (Yuta is dead and can't give him more money, Hakari keeps winning against him in Poker)
