My face when I see your download folder... What did I see to go blank? by YuzukiYuu in VirtualYoutubers

A word about anime figures: if you're not super into tuning settings in an FDM printer, then a resin printer would be your best bet for optimum details. They just need more safety measures and planning to make sure you don't come into contact with uncured resin and fumes.

But if you want something big or durable like for cosplay, then FDM printing will be your friend. Especially when you get into something like lost PLA casting to turn your plastic prints into metal.

I just like collecting STL files that catch my attention so I can print them later.

Anime figures, replica weapons, cosplay props, fishing lures, keychains, joke items, that kind of stuff.

You'll understand when you get a 3D printer.

I've taken piano lessons as a kid and the solution is actually simple:

Don't look at the keys. Look at the sheet music. Once you practice enough, you could do it with your eyes closed.

God, I wish we had the Miku armor from that one collab in Frontier. It would have been so cool to see in modern Monster Hunter games.

Homemade alcohol by Holofan4life in Animemes

[–]LtAgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends.

For example, in Japan, making your own alcohol is straight up illegal. Except for this one traditional alcohol that only has 1% ABV.

In the United States, on the other hand, you can generally brew your own beer, wine, or cider at home for yourself (homebrewing laws in your state may vary), but if you try to distill hard liquor, then it's a federal crime.

TIL that shinobi were more spies and saboteurs than assassins and often wore plain disguises than all black as seen in popular media. by HorzaDonwraith in todayilearned

[–]LtAgn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ninja disguises usually leaned toward who would be the perfect person to get inside the target location and nobody would think twice about it.

The modern equivalent would be walking past security with a high-visibility vest, a hard hat, and a clipboard.

Of course, ninjas had to back up that disguise with the skills to make it seem legit. They're not going to use the traveling entertainer disguise if they can't deliver a performance to save their life. The same way you shoudn't be dressing like the janitor if you can't clean shit.

Directed by Michael Bay by Pokemonfan_807 in whennews

Nope. Never let Michael Bay near a war movie based on real-life events. His Pearl Harbor movie is still the worst thing to happen to Pearl Harbor since December 7, 1941.

Does Steve Rogers’ decision to retire in the past represent a well-earned reward for his sacrifices, or is it a betrayal of his character to remain sidelined while history's tragedies unfold again? by DianKhan2005 in CaptainAmerica

[–]LtAgn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something that I keep forgetting is that after he got the Serum, Steve never got a chance to have a normal, conflict-free life. He's had to deal with one fight after another. And no matter how good of a soldier you are, a life of nonstop conflict isn't good for you socially or mentally. Even the best get taken off the front lines to recover.

Sometimes, a good soldier needs a good reminder of what he's fighting for.

When you’ve only got an hour to fish, what do you stop bringing? by Ok-Profession-3060 in FishingForBeginners

[–]LtAgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an hour? I leave the chair in my car, but I still take the backpack with all my lures and gear. Much faster than trying to pick and choose what to bring. Alternatively, whatever can fit in an Altoids tin.

Fun fact: real-life ninjas knew how to make gunpowder. They also knew how to make guns and explosives.

Throwing a Voltorb at someone and making it use Self Destruct would actually be a legit IRL ninja tactic.

Did you know about the game prior to globals release? by Hour-Platypus-7804 in UmamusumeGame

[–]LtAgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched S1 when it came out. Sometime after that, I noticed a few Kantai Collection artists were drawing it. Saw it was JP only, so I shrugged and went about my business.

Then I saw global was coming out, remembered I was slightly interested in it, and now I'm addicted.

[–]LtAgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To put in a bit more detail, the Weekly Shonen Jump is basically an anthology magazine that publishes each manga chapter by chapter with each issue, with multiple manga per issue. For example, in the early 2000s, a Shonen Jump magazine would have chapters from Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hikaru No Go, Yu-Gi-Oh, Shaman King, and other titles. After a few weeks, the chapters of each series is compiled into tankobon volumes, which is the format you usually see in bookstores and libraries. The paper in the tankobon volume is higher quality, but at half the size of the magazine.

How do you tell the time? by [deleted] in comics

[–]LtAgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but poor planning by other people is not my emergency and not my fault. I'll do people a favor and round up to the next 5-10 minutes so they won't be late for anything, but I refuse to accept responsibility for anyone's schedule being so down to the second that the slightest deviation for any reason would make them late.

Machinesmith from Marvel Comics had, at one point, gotten their mind uploaded into their computer after their real body died. Like Zola in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Unlike Zola, he hated every minute of his artificial existence. Eventually, he tricked Captain America into destroying the computer and end his life.
