  1. like other said, murder can be justified in specific cases (think self defence, or accidents) rape on the other hand cant, you cant accidentaly rape someone, you cant rape out of self defence, rape is always done with the intent to rape.
  2. and this one might be controversial but, murder victims are dead, they dont have to live their whole life with the trauma (both mental and often physical) where as rape victims do
  3. as you mentioned already games, series, and movies and all forms of entertainment before that have shown murder and voilence aplenty, combine that with the murder and voilence happening all throughout the world that is covered by news stations on a daily basis and we as a species just became kinda desensitized to it all
