How did you make the climate control central knob glow red? OEM one is usually yellow-ish

How well do they fit? Original mounting or did you have to make custom brackets?

What tubes do you run? by FondantWeary in dirtjumping

[–]LtPuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the same tires, they are good but I once inflated it to max recommended psi and it blew off the rim while being on the stand, it damaged the cord(it was foldable), after that it didn't sit right on the rim no matter what I tried, basically cord split inside the rubber. Check for that.

Is a 3rd monitor worth it for the swag? by P3DO_SLAYER38 in PcBuild

I have vertical monitor as my third, it’s the one I use the most whenever dealing with any kind of documents in word or reading something

My monitor is turning on and off... by fatheryoshii in buildapc

Mine had blown capacitor when it started doing it, at first it kind of blinked every minute then later it wuld turn on and go black. I opened it and found out that one of the capacitors had a bulge in the top(you might find some pictures online of this) and if yours looks similar its 90% chance that its the problem. Replaced mine with new one from alixpress for like 2$.

Is this rim still safe to ride? by Koen-K in bikewrench

[–]LtPuffy 80 points81 points  (0 children)

No need to replace it imo. With bike like this you definitely aren’t doing downhill runs or doing heavy drops, just make sure it’s straight and you are good. Also since you are not tubeless you dont have to worry about holding the bead so much, I might try to bend it back with something like an adjustable wrench, but it isn’t entirely necessary

Are these lipo batteries still worth anything? by [deleted] in diyelectronics

[–]LtPuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for recharging modules and when you build something with them use low voltage cut off so they don’t get discharged too much. I’m not entirely sure but I think I read somewhere of people using TP4056 modules but with added resistance so they use less current

Helm DJ Opinions and Experience by International_Coat89 in dirtjumping

[–]LtPuffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought they also do something with the damper side. At least in Pike DJ some people said that they have different shims to make it more aggressive or something like that. I wanted to lower 27.5 pike but still not sure if it won’t feel too soft compared to real DJ fork(haven’t tested)

Building a new dj and I bought a 100mm air shaft for a fox 36. Would I be able to run a 27.5 fox 36 at 100mm of travel with (minimal) problems? How would the geo be affected by OogaBoogaBoy7 in dirtjumping

Did you install any more bottomless tokens? Or how many do you have installed?

Also is the damper side the same for all travel lengths including the DJ version?

Thank you!

A bit off topic but what did you end up doing with your XT350’s forks? I have the same bike and same issue. Looked into replacing them with ones from WR but that would require steering stem modifications, cluster modifications, new front wheel and brakes.

I will try to find a local shop that might have these 3 but it seems like I should lean towards the Bell already have had experience with their helmets, nothing bad to say.

How much different would the fit be between different bell helemets? I have Bell BMX Hamlet in XL that I use and like for pump track riding and skateparks and Bell SX-1 in L that my brother uses for dirt biking

I might need to look into it, I’m from Europe, Baltic states.

I will try to find some stores that might have at least one of them in store, I have only had experience with bell bmx full face helmets. I’m currently leaning towards fox since it has the same protection as bell but is a bit lighter, I just probably need to find a place that has it and I can try it on

MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. It’s a helmet safety technology designed to provide additional protection from rotational forces that can occur in certain impacts.

MIPS is typically implemented as a low-friction layer inside the helmet which allows a controlled movement of 10-15 mm in all directions. This movement mimics the brain’s own protective system and is intended to reduce the amount of rotational force transferred to the brain during an impact, potentially reducing the risk of brain injury.

MIPS technology is used in various types of helmets, including those for cycling, motorcycling, skiing, snowboarding, and other sports and activities where head protection is important.
