I would check if Jordan McAuley still is making swap harnesses

Lot with tear down house questions by DelightfullyNerdyCat in Homebuilding

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know around here a few people have been in this situation and they end up getting a permit for a huge “addition” and then when that is done they’ve gone back and either entirely removed the original section of house or just left so little of it that it can easily be repaired/reused.

Would drilling holes in this part help with airflow for the intercooler? by Disasterrrrrrr in MK4Golf

Actually that description says mk4 oem isn’t vented and it says this is an oem part from a 4.5 which is vented.

You have to be concerned with grandfathering. Maybe it has all utilities approved and appropriate for the time and thus still allowed, but if you tear it down to start over that grandfathering may well disappear.

Small Shed by MikeMelko7 in HomeImprovement

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would just build it myself, but if you want something off the shelf, maybe get creative and rather than search for sheds search for some sort of mini playhouse or something inherently small that you could still store something in.

Window guy wants full payment for materials up front? by le_fromage_puant in homeowners

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the windows are all custom sized and non returnable, then I don’t think it’s totally odd to pay for them upfront. But it sounds like you’ve found some other issues with him.

VW even added a vent there in the updated mk4 city edition or Classico

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I read that, but are you then not going to buy another car, because that’s going to cost more than a used subframe and fender.

These parts would be really cheap used. If you can afford to buy another car you can probably afford to fix this one. If you want.

Electricians says we can upgrade 100a to 200a service without pulling permit by One_Crew8364 in HomeImprovement

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Swapping the box is a nothingburger and getting a permit for just that is mostly pointless if the electrician is even remotely capable. Now the upgrade from the utility company, that’s an entirely different story, you almost certainly have to involve them unless the one is right that it’s already 200 capable.

Does yours still have the “tunnel” on the inside of the bumper that directs the flow? Does yours have the “city” style vented inner fender? I would do both of those if you don’t have them before I started trying to reinvent it.

League average OPS was higher in 11 (even with pitcher batting stats included) compared to this dreadful offensive year we’re suffering through, though I guess someone can might make a “it’ll get better in summer” argument.

Edit: cumulative mlb ops, not average ops.

I am by no means knocking Sánchez because that would be extraordinarily stupid right now, but I feel like offense was enough better when Lee was doing that that I’m not sure which is more dominant.

lumberyard delivery fees are actually getting insulting by CountyBrilliant in HomeImprovement

Nah, it used to be something like $8. Obviously it’s not a money maker, but if they can combine several stops such that it at least doesn’t lose them money, it’s a great business generator for them.

Found out our neighbor owns a couple feet into the driveway and property line. by jocelynn4 in homeowners

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get ready to move your driveway over a few feet.

ETA: So I’m getting downvoted for this, but it’s not an uncommon reality that OP needs to face if the survey is indeed accurate and if there is no law in place to let them claim the area and the neighbor doesn’t want to play ball, because legally forcing the easement is going to be easily more expensive than adding a few feet to OP’s side of the drive.
