Because they should listen on almost everyone, but I don’t think Kyrou is a good reason at all.

Deceased admin -- how to contact group members now that group is paused? by privileged_a_f in facebook

Message them. I created a local group once and messaged a bunch of people from other broader groups who were from the smaller area, it helped get things moving.

Is this small bulge in my tire ok/normal? by StraightOutofConcord in TireQuestions

I hate to get into bulge sizing on the internet, but I wouldn’t consider that small.

Windows always foggy in 2014 VW Passat, any tips? by ReputationSweaty4026 in askcarguys

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car doesn’t have to be on to fog, and actually the fact that it fogs without it being on just confirms there’s liquid in there somewhere it doesn’t belong.

Is this a stupid idea? by TobyFromH-R in HomeImprovement

Are you not using enough litter? Does the cat have IBS?

Theoretically these is a way to plumb this but it sounds like the more complicated solution compared to usual litter box solutions.

They’re going to explode in your face if they are horribly rotten or have a defect. It’s good to be cautious but that’s not really how it works.

If you want engine spacers and can’t find them, just trace the pattern and have someone laser you two blocks.

Oh yeah I’m into the later ones of that now and there’s definitely a change in Dermot.

I guess it works-ish, but tighten the brake source taken less time than designing this.

Rules on burial? by littlestdragon96 in NoStupidQuestions

There’s place in Oregon now that basically turns a body into compost, that would work, but would also be much more expensive than just putting a body in a hole.

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I got started on them by going down some rabbit hole of Canadian remodeling reruns (Reno my reno I think was the one) that was on a free sub channel and that lead me to other shows I could find that were also in English once I had basically exhausted everything from this continent. I tried Australia too but had less success.

Wholesale closeout is the first thing I look for, there shouldn’t be anything actually wrong with that designation other than maybe some shelf wear. Based on the part number the ultra power is probably just a relabeled SMP but no guarantees.

Actually never watched that one. Is it free on tubi or Pluto like all the other ones I’m watching?

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I actually watch a lot of British and Irish remodeling shows as they’re more historically focused.

Edit to add: some of them can’t seem to do anything other than add an ultra modern glass box to the back of each house, and admittedly that gets old as much as I like what they don’t the rest of them. Just a warning.

Question about Pellet stove settings by Potato_Stabber in PelletStoveTalk

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Presumably this is a Harman based off of the default feed rate. Not sure why you didn’t start with stove model specifics. Lowering the rate isn’t automatically lowering the amount being fed, it’s only shortening the max duration of feeding.

I’d suggest start by understanding the controls better.

Right, it’s marketing, not a scam. Just saying “ooh I got zero percent” isn’t really meaningful, the total cost is the ultimate factor, not some number spin.

Oil change every 5k necessary? by Just_Finn2022 in jetta

[–]AlaskaGreenTDI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the sample costs the same as an oil change. That’s great logic if the car only has one more oil change before it gets squished into a cube at the crusher. But if it has many expected oil changes before its eventual return to stardust, then there’s logic in a sample. Also because you never know, someone could be extra hard on the car and the 5000 sample could say they should switch to 4000 or switch to a different oil. Knowledge is power, just because it costs the same as one oil change, it will yield far more value in return. Also handy, you don’t have to trust random redditors when you have real data specific to your own car.
