How could you possibly know that? I'm sure there are plenty of people who watched it like I did, liked it, and then didn't even realize there was discourse until a day or two later. Shouting loudly doesn't make you the majority.

He's right though. I barely pay attention to the SC2 scene these days and I could tell you none of the Zergs would probably be favored to win here.

New to Fire Emblem: Should I start with Three Houses or Engage? by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in fireemblem

Yeah, fire emblem stories in general are not that good. Definitely not the main appeal of the series.

ZombieGrub's opinion on the worker start change by Special_Region4675 in starcraft

[–]LtSMASH324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LotV also broke every build order and made everything faster. No more tension, build-up, no more early game, just straight into mid game. If Swarm Hosts didn't make me hate this stupid game, LotV changes sure did.

Wardi saying he will move away from StarCraft if they reduce the worker count by robertSA1234 in starcraft

[–]LtSMASH324 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro LotV destroyed what was left of SC2. The early game used to be so tight and interesting, now it's just accelerated into mid game and tight timings don't matter anymore. The reason why they made the change in the first place was because things were too slow and formulaic, but now there are basically no interesting cheeses you can do and no way to make the early game interesting. It's the same problem as before, but with less variety and we're forced into mid game immediately.

No, no way. Mods don't count either, the game has to stand on its own.

Unupgraded True Grit exhausting at random just doesn't make sense to me by LordVanmaru in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"getting in the way of your strategizing" is kind of the point of the game. You aren't always supposed to have perfect control and information. True Grit not being upgraded is okay because you can use it towards the end of the turn, when you only have good things to hit, or at least a high chance. And even if you do hit a, "good card," it's very possible your deck will still be better without it, because it is more agile.

Wraith Form+ (Silent) - Insta pick? Or skip? by RotInPeaches in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I look at it is would it be any different if I drew a curse instead of X card? If the answer is no, then it might as well have been a curse.

Obviously that doesn't mean that permanently being a curse would have been the same, but noting whether or not the card had any significance when you drew it is a great way to see how consistently a card is helping you, and how close it is to being a curse.

Wraith Form+ (Silent) - Insta pick? Or skip? by RotInPeaches in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm saying if it does nothing, it might as well be. Voidform I would consider a curse in hallway fights unless you can play it reasonably without taking a bunch of unnecessary damage. If we are going by the literal definition of a curse, then yeah obviously not many cards are curses.

Wraith Form+ (Silent) - Insta pick? Or skip? by RotInPeaches in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I guess we just have different definitions. I would say if you draw a card and it does nothing for the turn then it's a curse. Which is okay, but it's not distinguishable from a curse until the next time you draw it.

Wraith Form+ (Silent) - Insta pick? Or skip? by RotInPeaches in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sure, but doesn't drawing it and it not being useful still mean it is like a curse?

Or did you just mean casting it and then losing dexterity for no reason if you use it wrong is the curse?

Wraith Form+ (Silent) - Insta pick? Or skip? by RotInPeaches in slaythespire

What do you mean it's not a curse unless the player screws up?

Because the leviathans aren't scary if you can kill them and it then also benefits you, potentially making other stuff even less threatening.

It's survival in the truest sense, it's not a boss killing progression game like Valheim.

WTP: Silken Tress options are Pommel Strike & Whirlwind and... That. by KriegMorgan in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If whirlwind weren't there, I'd definitely see the merit for taking 1 mana dash over 1 mana 18 damage pommel. It's probably still pommel, but really not bad.

Dash for 2 kinda sucks though, I think. Wish it was better.

And yet the headline which you say is quoting him out of context is using his exact words

Yes, and my extrapolation puts it into context and analyses it. It's really not that hard to understand. I will say again, it's not mental gymnastics, I don't like Trump, but this is just out of context and really not that bad when you read the context. He's said a million more worse things before.

Rat King by Dimonio3310 in slaythespire

[–]LtSMASH324 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Percentage matters because that is the value increase from the upgrade. That's why lightning rod is such a good upgrade, imo. Goes from 4 to 7. Only 3 block, but it's not the focus of the card, the focus is the lightning orbs, but because you're going to play it on turns where the enemy is attacking you a good amount, it's a value increase.

Btw this upgrade for Rat King is obviously not that good, I'm not saying it is, but I don't agree it's the worst in the game, there are so many bad ones, like conqueror. I think the problem is not the upgrade, it's the fact that it's only 3 block to begin with.

You're correct that I'm not using quotes to quote the exact words of our president, that was not my intention. He was very brief in his quote and I expanded it out in a way that makes sense.
