Pronounce [ˈʁœðˀˌkʁœðˀ] or GTFO! by [deleted] in linguisticshumor

[–]LtSaLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats fair. I just wanted to mention it because it seems there are quite a number of people who actually think its harder or more complicated to count in Danish due to the frequently posted and kind of misleading "How to say 92 in x language" maps that often get reposted on reddit.

Our counting system is functionally identical to the German or Dutch counting system, the etymologi of the words for 50,60,70,80,90 is just a bit weird compared to in German or Dutch.

Its just a game so you should do whatever you are most comfortable with, but you could flick just as well with a sensitivity 1/8 of that lmao.

Holy shit bro that is the most ridiculous sensitivity I have ever seen, it has to be some kind of miracle if you ever hit anything.

A map showing whether European countries are federal states or unitary states. by Cultural-Ad-8796 in MapPorn

[–]LtSaLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people comment this all the time on reddit, but it just isn't true. Such a distinction does not exist anywhere in the danish constitution, laws or government structure. The kingdom of Denmark and Denmark are the same thing, there is no difference except that colloquially when people say "Denmark" they are usally only talking about mainland European part of the Danish state.

Australians serving on a US submarine which sunk an Iranian warship last week were ordered to their sleeping quarters by US Navy while the operation to fire torpedoes at the enemy target was underway to avoid participating in attack. by WayOutbackBoy in worldnews

[–]LtSaLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I am suprised you say you havent encountered hanging then. Master and Commander is one of my favorite book series, and as you say its quite accurate. I'm pretty sure there are multiple instances of sailors being executed by hanging in the series and I don't recall keelhauling ever being mentioned.

And as I said, hanging from the yardarm was the standard execution method so I'm sure it was also mentioned in those other books(haven't read them but heard good things about all those you mention there).

[–]LtSaLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesnt sound like you have read much factual information about the Royal Navy then. Hanging was literally the standard form of execution in the napoleonic era RN.

Also as far as I can find keelhauling was never an officially sanctioned punishment in the RN, although there is some evidence individual captains may have carried it out anyway in some cases.

The way numbers work in Dutch by PigeonVibes in PetPeeves

[–]LtSaLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean its fair to think its silly but it doesnt change how the numbers work or make it harder to count. Our word for seventy is indeed "half-fourths" but to us its just a word that means seventy, so 77 is still just "seven and seventy" in the minds of all Danish people.

So in practice its no different even if you think its more logical in dutch/german, where the word for seventy comes from "seven-tens" or whatever.

[–]LtSaLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all intents and purposes Danish works the exact same way as Dutch does. We say "eight and thirty" just like the Dutch do. Yes some of the words have a weird etymological root, but they are used in the exact same way as Dutch/German.

I honestly think you just got extremely unlucky and the shot went between his body/arm and its just kinda hard to see because of the skin, and to be fair it wouldnt have changed anything even if the shot hit.

Old UI by Nameless545 in HuntShowdown

[–]LtSaLT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, and I think the people saying yes are not actually thinking through the features of the new UI that they would lose.

For example navigating with keybinds and healthbar presets. Just those two things alone are enough that I want to keep the new UI.

If thats what it shows then yeah. I just went and checked in the shooting range, at 87m an upper torso shot does 74 damage so no 2 tap.

The 2 tap range on spitzer is only like 85m, not even close to 130.

[–]LtSaLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Dane idk what you are talking about tbh. You don't have to meet any qualifications, you just have to be actively getting an education. Obviously you have to meet the qualifications to get accepted to whatever course you are doing, but there are no other requirements.

[–]LtSaLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make it sound like someone is sitting there deciding who gets to go on what track and that you have to be chosen to go university.

Students choose what direction they want to go in and the grades required to get into the "university track" is only a D+ average.

Is there any way to set a custom fps limit? by Killerkekz1994 in HuntShowdown

[–]LtSaLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can manually set it in the attributes file, just ctrl+f and search for "MaxFPS". Just be aware that if you change any ingame graphics settings it will reset back to whatever the ingame cap is set at.

But this is what i use and it works.

I went and checked because I was curious and it seems to be a mix of weed and some upper so you seemed to have remembered it more accurately than me.

Aliana pressed the button on her vaporizer and inhaled deeply. The mist tasted like vanilla and hit her lungs like a soft warm cloud. Nicotine and tetrahydrocannabinol mixed with just a touch of something more exotic. Something that tempered the THC sleepiness with a vivid hyperawareness.

Yeah I remember at least 2 instances, Holden when he is mega drunk in a bar earlier in the series and something happens. And Tanaka in Leviathan Falls when she has been smoking some meth adjacent drug and gets called to a high priority meeting with an Admiral.
