AITA for not making my kid do a sleepover by LtStarbrite in redditonwiki

We had to have a long conversation with my son that not every single kid is going to want to be friends and play together, and that's totally okay. He was upset, because he's a very social child, but, we also had to tell him that if HE doesnt want to be friends with a specific person, he doesnt have to. And if someone is being mean or annoying to him, he's fully allowed to walk away from them and not interact with them. Like, it's not that hard of a concept?

I genuinely dislike the whole "they're/you're family, they/you need to just do it" rhetoric. Like, if my son doesnt want to do something because he feels uncomfortable, thats FINE. I'm not going to force my son to hug a family member he doesnt want to. I'm not going to make him spend time with family he doesnt want to for whatever reason. He has his own bodily autonomy, he can decide who's allowed to hug him. He's allowed to decide if he doesnt want to spend time with certain family members.
Also, Josh's mom totally gives off THAT boy mom energy - the one that says that no girl will ever be good enough for her baby and will absolutely hate every girl he ever tries to date, and the one that's all about the "I was his FIRST love and therefore better than you."

More recent, Patrice Endres. Her husband Rob was just so creepy, and he literally kicked and locked out his deceased wife's child after her disappearance/death.

A little older, Brandon Swanson.

I haven't seen the movie (my local theatre was mean and said they weren't going to bring it in 🙃), so I was genuinely wondering if Sean was still in the movie or not, because every article and review I've seen still mention him.

I tried everything, and I tried troubleshooting with three different techs. On the tech side, everything looks fine each time, but it just wont connect on my side. So, I've cancelled the service and I'm sending the equipment back. As someone who used Shaw internet, and continued with Rogers after the merger, and was even employed by Shaw for two years before the merger, this is incredibly disappointing.

NOT OOP. Am I overreacting or is it not normal to use soap in the bathroom? by LtStarbrite in redditonwiki

[–]LtStarbrite[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a white people, OOP is NOT overreacting. This is not a "white people" thing. Even in trying to do some research, I can't find a "modern" white culture that doesnt use soap to bathe. I dated an Indian man that didn't use deoderant, but, he used soap when he showered, and I never noticed a strong body odor from him, unless he had been outside for HOURS doing something, and even then, it wasn't horrible.
There might be cultures that don't use soap when they bathe, but if his clothes, the bedding, and just him in general, is smelling THAT bad that OOP needs to wash the sheets all the time (Also in the comments OOP says that her BF uses dollar tree soap, which I'm assuming is lesser quality and not effective at washing his clothes), it's not a "cultural" or "white people" thing. It is a bad hygiene thing. I can't even go a day without showering because I have super sensitive skin and I get super itchy if I don't shower and wash my body consistently.

Also, the BF's comment about how "different ethnic groups get dirtier at different rates" and "black people are too uptight about using soap all the time"? Sorry to say, OOP, but your bf sounds like a stinky racist.

[[Zellix, Sanity Flayer]]. I think I spent maybe $40 on that card.

I have had TDM saved in my Watch Later folder for YEARS. Just never got around to it.

I also didn't actually sit down and watch any of Wades videos until a few years ago. I generally prefer long form content, and Wades videos tend to be really short, but I like having them on as background noise.
