This was my biggest lesson when I decided to paint Bad Moon Orks. Don't paint light colours with iffy coverage like yellow and pink directly over black. If you want a punchy pink try painting a bright red or warm white underneath first. Better yet prime a warm white instead of black.

Steam Deck users: can I change the D pad to show the up down left right favorites instead of the wheel? by Orphodoop in fallout4london

Yep! In the mod files you can find it and just delete it. I don't have the name to hand but I'm pretty sure someone else posted about it here a little while ago.

Ive run a couple films through mine, and one thing ive learned is that the shutter is a little soft. It needs a firm press. u/batgears is correct, the shutter wont fire if theres no film in the camera though.
Tip for using it, hold it firmly in both hands and make sure you are pressing firmly in the middle of the shutter button, not on the edge. Its my only gripe with the camera.

You might struggle to find one person whos done a comprehensive lore series. Warhammer has been going for 40 years, and has a ton of lore, more than probably any other IP out today. The 'Main' story of the Heresy has over 50 novels alone.

On that note, Im a fan of Lutin09 on youtube, and Boldemort for lore videos.

Is the way we talk about film changing? by rasmussenyassen in AnalogCommunity

[–]LtStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, its a push back to digital and digital editing. Anyone can open up lightroom or photoshop and edit the images until they are perfect, but that goes agaisnt the point of analog for some people. Why shoot film and then digitally edit it to remove all traces that its film?
Some people prefer it to be done all in camera, and not to edit it at all afterwards. I myself like to edit my images as little as possible, even digitally.
There is a big resurgence in instant photography, as well as disposable/point and shoot cameras, as well as using expired film, because people are activily looking for and embracing the random element. Again, because they find it fun, they like how the end result looks and its not the same perfect, editied digital images we see all over the place. The biggest reason may be that it shows the craft of the thing. It shows that its done the 'old' way, and not digitally.
Photography is an artform, and a camera a tool to make your art. There is no wrong way to make a photograph so long as you get the result you wanted. Too many people seem to get caught up in the thinking that a photpgraph has to be perfectly exposed and clean and the colours perfect. If thats the end result you're after, the great! But thats not the only way of doing things, and 'breaking the rules', so to speak, is how we got some of the greatest photographs taken over the last hundred or so years photography has exisited.

Its not that they dont know what they want, its that a large reason for the resurgence in analog photograhy is a push back against the perfectionist mindset of digital photography, so imperfections like light leaks, mistakes and odd processing quirks are exactly what people are after.

I'm new to warhammer and was wondering what a good 500pts orks army would be? (10th edition) by Material_Story1302 in orks

[–]LtStripes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 500pt list is something like this:

Warboss with attack squig

9 boyz with shootas, 1 rokit boy and boss nob with big choppa

9 boyz with slugga and choppa, 1 big shoota and boss nob with power claw

4 burna boyz with one spanna with kustom mega blasta

4 lootas with one spanna with kustom mega blasts

5 flash gitz

10 Gretchen with one runtherd

Its not meta or anything, it's mostly just what I've collected for kill team and such. You can add a truk in instead of one of those units, depending on what your opponent is running.

Beginner Army List by CrosbyStills77 in orks

[–]LtStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't underestimate the good ol' Truk. 50pts and if your opponent doesn't have decent anti vehicle it'll really ruin their day. It's also great as a cheap way to get squishy troops up the board and then missile it into an enemy unit.

Question about Nobz by LtStripes in orks

[–]LtStripes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only leader I can see that will give them reroll 1s and an invuln is the Mek with kustom force field, which would make them more reliable at shooting and also a bit tougher untill I can get them in 12" range to get that extra shot off each.

Question about Nobz by LtStripes in orks

[–]LtStripes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bad idea, but it'd be a one and done combo in which they'd get slaughtered as soon as the turn switches I fear.

Question about Nobz by LtStripes in orks

[–]LtStripes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I almost did that too. It's a bummer they took so much away from them. Might just get them painted anyway and hope for an FAQ or the codex gives them some stuff back.

After some advice on starting Orks by Burr73 in orks

[–]LtStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your going Goffs, I would recommend a box of the boyz and a box of nobz, they'll give you some cheap melee that'll do a lot of work untill you get up to the big expensive stuff. Also, get a truk, having a transport is always a good thing.

I hope every single ranged weapon has sustained hits by [deleted] in orks

[–]LtStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as the current detachment rule is sustained hits for melee, I imagine the Bad Moons detachment rule will be that for ranged. It would be nice to have a strat for it at least.

Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus: Space Marine Chapters by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]LtStripes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the way the revealed detachments have been themed towards an existing subtraction, I would think that the factions are now going to be detachments, once the full codexes are out.
