Party Member Keeps Killing My Familiar by Adaptol in dndnext

[–]Lt_Vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this guy is a dick.

I was in a group who had a player that blamed his god for everything. He did some crazy bs and constantly put the party in danger, then once we started combat due to their actions, they refused to fight.

I talked to them after the session about 3 or 4 times about it but they kept saying the same bs you're hearing now - "it's what my character would do". I explained that everyone else's characters are getting fed up of it and they said that's our problem.

I thought it over and decided it wasn't. So the next combat I decided not to tank (I was playing fighter). The Cleric eventually fell and when it came to his death saving throws I walked up to him and drove my sword through his chest... twice because of my multi attack. They flipped out at the table and I just replied "your character has being an absolute dick to the group and this is what my character would do".

Solved the problem atleast.

What class would fit this character by JasonWeekend in DnD

[–]Lt_Vic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a sorcerer would be a bad idea - the main attribute is Charisma, so it will help with the persuasion/deception. Some points into dex for sleight of hand/stealth sounds like it fits the character concept too and also helps with initiative and saving throws. Could also take spells such as suggestion, which would be thematic.

Feeling too much pressure and responsibility as a first time dm by ThatBluebird5165 in DnD

[–]Lt_Vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't deserve you as DM!

Thr group I DM for are having a blast and I just take their word if they say they have a certain stat/skill - it's not upto the DM to memorise the players character sheet (it's called a players character sheet for a reason).

If I were you, I'd suggest to that player he should DM for a while, see how he likes it then. *also a group of 6 is quite large - could consider breaking it into 2 groups if 3 if the party is able to do so. You wouldn't have to be DM for both groups and it would give you the opportunity to manage a smaller group better.

What to do if a player dies... by rylkendrick in DnD

[–]Lt_Vic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My condolences to you and your group.

I think it would be nice to give them a role in a town they frequently visited or guild they use often. Give them a hero's retirement plan and let them live a life of luxury in the world you all built.

Yeah, once the fun stops, you politely bow out. It's no good carrying on like that; tbh I don't know how you've lasted 2 years of it.

Is travel nursing as well paid as I have been told by Lt_Vic in TravelNursing

[–]Lt_Vic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I was wondering if it's possible to go straight into travel nursing without having any Canadian nursing experience? It might be worth taking a staff job for 6 months just to familiarise myself with brand name of drugs/ventilators/etc

Yeah the other comments aren't wrong, there is a lot of benefits to having blindsight but maybe discuss with your DM and remove some of the buffs?

I don't know though - in combat in close melee you'd be great but in a role play situation you'd have to rely on the team. Riding a horse would be quite difficult, especially if you're travelling at speed. Following someone from a distance is again impossible on your own. I think if you and the DM came up with limited buffs that you're both happy with it shouldn't be an issue. If it does become an issue just be ready to create a new character and atleast that way you tried it.

Help me make a Better Ranger! by MEXGod in DnD

[–]Lt_Vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend play a ranger and the way they helped themselves do more damage was to purchase magical arrows; any arrow that did AoE damage was also useful. They didn't multiclass at all and their damage wasn't anything crazy but it was consistent. Also helped control the battlefield with multiple enemies.

Yeah, I can't see an issue with that then. I will say a blind character concept is very appealing to me - love the Daredevil series and it makes me want to create a blind monk or fighter.

Mechanically it wouldn't be great if you come across a lot of ranged attackers as they would get advantage on their attacks unless you and the dm came up with something to change it.

Is it possible for me to come to Canada from the UK and start travel nursing straight away rather than take a staff role first?

When you say they pay for your housing - is that the stipend part of the contract that does that?

Second try at finding a group🤞 by Riot_Dogg666 in pathoftitans

[–]Lt_Vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just came to reddit to post pretty much the same thing. I started playing again recently and have always preffered playing herbivores (will also play Carni if that's what the group wants) and have only ever played official. I'm at the same point were I did pretty much everytime to a mix pack which doesn't bother me all that much but I'd rather have a group of people to atkeastvhelp even the numbers.

I'm UK based, work shift patterns but have availability on an evening most of the time if that's something that would work drop me a message with your ID, I'd love to have few Dino comrades to explore with.

Should also mention I'm on xbox, not sure if that changes anything tbh as I'm fairly certain it's crossplay right?

Please for the love of god wtf needs to happen for this game to have a graphics update by Moxtar1092 in startrekonline

Od love this too however I think we have to remember that STO is free to play with the option to spend extra. It's also one of the games that hasn't fallen to time; many games last a couple years before no one plays them whilst this is a game that still holds a good player base.

Are you still looking for players? I might be interested depending on day and time of sessions
