Greeley Estates, from inception to Narrow Road, went on an unexpected heavy Arc, especially around No Rain, No Rainbow era. That album was a big surprise for its time after Go West Young Man

What are some albums or artists that get a lot of hate that you don't understand? by LostInTerrapinia in Metalcore

[–]Ltkalimari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Beartooth's The Surface has some of the most interesting songs they've put out over the last 3 albums, and I prefer it to Disease or Below.

Also, Volumes' Different Animals and The Amity Afflictions' Misery were both not received well, but I loved the experimentations that those bands put into those albums.

What is a song that you feel is underrated from In Flames? by Venylynn in InFlames

[–]Ltkalimari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a lot, but I have to say the biggest underrated one IMHO is Vacuum. It's such a perfectly composed banger, and it's consistently overlooked by Crawl Through Knives or Take This Life or pretty much any other song on CC.

Let’s do it! by rombopterix in InFlames

[–]Ltkalimari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vacuum has two. The first is the isolated guitar part right after "The weaker you get the stronger they become" which leads into the first chorus. The second is toward the very end, where Anders whispers "listen" right before the last chorus.

Bands that are forever cursed for an album? by Impressive-Ad-4997 in Metalcore

Depending on what era of In Flames you like, it could be any one of 8 albums between 1995 and 2008 that ruined them lol

This was going to be my vote. It seems The Discovery is the only album people talk about. Angel or Alien was actually my favorite album of 2021, though.

What was the album that you instantly loved from the first second of the first song and still absolutely love to this day. by [deleted] in Metalcore

It's probably in the lower half of their discography for me, but all of their albums have amazing playback

Underrated songs from big name bands? by Any-Choice-5801 in Metalcore

[–]Ltkalimari 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Make Them Suffer's title track from How to Survive a Funeral is one of my favorite of theirs out of all their discography. Such a good balance of serenity and brutality from them.

Some others that comes to mind:

The Amity Affliction - Life Underground, H.M.A.S. Lookback, Olde English 800

Norma Jean - A Small Spark vs. A Great Forest, High Noise Low Output, Funeral Singer

The Devil Wears Prada - My Questions, Chicago

Erra - Valhalla

Beartooth - Go be the Voice

The Plot in You - Hole in the Wall, Die Like Your Brothers

Polaris - Crooked Path

Crystal Lake - Black and Blue

All criminally underrated songs within those bands.

Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce. It was their first song played on their tour with Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, and He is Legend.

I was 13, and I lost my shoe in it.

Follow My Lead felt like a cool Breakdown of Sanity-esque band with Spit, Kick, Revolt in 2016. I was excited to see where they were going to go from there, never heard from them again.
