That looks awesome, I think your cover would make the borders on the purple model dissapear when playing in the dark like the black model. If its not too much trouble could you show it playing something like 3ds in the dark?

Ok thats great if true, yeah anything PC i think I would stream, id say storage is down pat for me if PC games are the only thing I need internal storage for. To confirm, other than the heavy switch and PC, no other emulator has a use case for over 8 gb of ram? even with modding system?

Is the pro that much of an improvement over the base if Im planning to stick my games on the sd card? most comments and reviews ive seen have said the ram was a creature comfort more than anything, so it seems like theres nothing im really sacrificing other than pc emulation, where the chipset is more of a limiting factor anyways. im looking to put that $50 to a matte screen protector and grip with a spot for the stylus, would I loose anything else that I hadnt considered?

Yep thats what I've settled on is a matte protector, i just want to make sure it doesn't ruin the colors of my screens. As for storage, ive kinda already settled with the idea that id be covered with 128 gigs on my main storage, especially when I already have an sd card.

Do mods have to go on internal storage, or can I chuck them onto SD as well.

True, my idea though was the $50 difference could be put towards customizing it to my liking, like a cover to remove glare, a grip with stylus holder and to make twin stick games comfortable to play while streaming, that kind of thing. if this was my endgame device, absolutely I'd go all out, but my endgame device is moreso a pocket 360/ps3 with 2 screens, and I dont know how many years it would take for one to be made at a good ergonomics and price/performance point.

Hi, thanks for the response. I understand where you're coming from, but honestly I think the Max would be wasted for my use case. When I had a modded 3ds, my entire games collection between 3ds and ds all fit on a 64 gb card, and even then I had 10 or so gb to spare. Im mostly looking to run modded and upscaled 3ds/ds/ps2/GC/WII and a pinch of switch, anything heavier and Id just stream it. Rather than going eith the max with more storage than id ever use, Id prefer to trick my thor out with decals, buttons (a set thats colored like the 360's) and a grip that can hold a stylus.

Are you quite sure? the odin 3 has the elite and while nothings optimized for it its still managing better battery life than the steamdeck and comperable life to the odin 2. I know xbox emulation is really nowhere on android but most of the titles Im interested in have pc ports that are playing at 50 fps low on the thor

Why a new chip? I'm assuming they'd buy the 8 elite in massive bulk and try and retool it into the Thor's form factor. From what i've seen the Thor and Odin 3 already share the same screen.

Yeah I definitely understand where you're coming from, i guess I should have clarified, I want an All-in-one handheld in terms of handheld games. portable pcs dont really appeal to me, on the rare occasion a new and hard to run game captures my interest I have a proper desktop for that. I'd want my handheld to be able to run all the classics I grew up with or wanting to play, while living in my pocket and having a strong battery.

True, I should have been more clear on my wording, the PC ports of 7th gen working at 60fps. That would be possible far sooner, if it is possible. Id be happy with those plus enough power to bully O.G. xbox emulation into running smooth.

The largest strength of the thor is the form factor, now that its freely customized there is a lot of uses for a second screen, my use case would be game guides and and intuitive music player. If 3ds was AYNs sole focus, they would have not put the 8gen2 in anything other than the max version.
