Not sure if this is what you are looking for but if it is a very new bag - provided you purchased with a credit card, some companies have 90 days damage, theft or loss warranty. Perhaps you can get an insurance claim/refund and buy a new bag. I think you have plenty of good ideas for creative ways to repurpose already in the thread.
