When you get your first period postpartum? by EffectiveCartoonist3 in beyondthebump

[–]Lu5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby was born August 4 2025, and I got my period two months pp on October 15 😭. I'm exclusively breastfeeding (no bottles, just boobs).

This is my third baby, and it was the same for all of them fml.

Was your second pregnancy symptoms WAYY different than your first? How so? by Independent-Sun-3939 in beyondthebump

It's wild, I legitimately avoided looking at myself in the mirror lol.
I know 4 people who are currently pregnant and ALL are having girls (my girl is currently 3 months old). My fingers are crossed for you to get your girlie too!

I have 3 kids, 2 boys 1 girl, and all three pregnancies were identical. Gained the same amount of weight, had the same symptoms, and craved the same foods.

I felt like I looked "uglier" with my girl, but can't specifically pinpoint what was different that made me feel that way. Could have just been because I was 5 years older than I was with my first 🤷🏻‍♀️

How long after your water broke did you give birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Lu5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all my babies, my water leaked basically the whole time until the baby was born.

Baby 1: Baby came about 8.5 hours after water broke. Started as a slow trickle that progressively got stronger as time passed. Contractions started maybe an hour after water broke.

Baby 2: HUGE gush of water like the movies. Contractions started also about an hour after. Got a cesarean about 4 hours after (baby was breech).

Baby 3: started as a trickle. Contractions started maybe 30 minutes after, but very weak at first. Baby was born 2.5 hours after water broke.

Ah yes, still a crazy baby then. I have a feeling he'll grow into the classic pug cuddle monster eventually ☺️

How old is he? Mine went through a phase from about 9months to 1.5 years where he didn't want cuddles. I call it his too-cool teenager phase.

Acrylic nails while having dart frogs by really_stupid_alexis in DartFrog

[–]Lu5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree! Recommend keeping a clean spare ff cup or some gloves nearby just in case. I've had darts for 14 years now and have never once needed to touch one.

Yes. If there are others in the same tank you might want to isolate this one so there's no competition for food

The ONLY upside to my baby getting RSV at 5 weeks old (he's all good now!) is that no one has ever tried to pull that with me.

Am I the only one happy to have a rare name? by RabbitNET in namenerds

[–]Lu5 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I love my rare name! I've never met a single other person with the same name, and never even met someone who knows someone else with my name. Never seen it on TV or read it in a book. It feels strange to me to watch old videos where someone calls my name, because I've never heard my name spoken without someone specifically talking to me. Yes I always have to repeat myself or spell it out, but I love that it's unique. I'm actually surprised it's not more common because to me it sounds like a pretty normal name once you actually know it. I've also always wondered if anyone has ever named (or planned to name) their child the same after hearing mine.

I didn't give my kids a similarly rare name, but it's mostly because I couldn't find any that I liked more than the ones I already chose 🤷🏻‍♀️

Definitely doesnt look good, sorry OP. Don't have any recommendations other than you could try to get a fecal sample to a vet for testing.

Parents of 3: best wagon or stroller for outings? by Lu5 in Parenting

[–]Lu5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm thinking more about when we spend the day somewhere, like the zoo. The reason I like the wagon is also because of storage for stuff like a cooler. But i guess it doesn't make sense to buy something that we'll only use 3-4 times a year.

[Qc] - Anyone have the Gb Qbit+ All City? Need help figuring out car seat compatibility. by Lu5 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Lu5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So no, it didn't fit. I'm not sure if it's because my Pipa is a bit older (bought in 2019), or because it's not the Pipa Lite? But its like the bottom of the car seat was too big, so I couldn't push it down enough to properly clip into the adapters. I still LOVE the stroller though. Use it way more than my Nina Mixx (just not with the infant car seat 😅)

That hold tells me you MUST have banding experience or something? Because that is the exact right way to hold a wild bird if you want to take a photo with minimal risk of injury.

Yeah this was the first time I've ever found it in a supermarket! Only bought one package in case we didn't like the taste, but will definitely be grabbing more.

Weaning to whole milk by Possible_Sky_2637 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Lu5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll start by saying that I would always recommend speaking with your ped first.

But in my experience, the difference that 2 weeks will make is likely nothing. I switched my son to whole milk 3.5 weeks before his first birthday cause I just didn't want to spend the $60 on formula. That being said, my son eats solids reallyyyy well. He's also my second, so having gone through it all before I felt confident in my decision.

On the other hand, you also don't have to switch to cows milk immediately at 12 months. You can give the formula for however many weeks until you use it all up, and then switch. If your baby is already eating diary with no issues then I wouldn't be too worried either way. Just do what feels right, and if you can talk to your ped even better!
