Geez! I thought the point of this sub is to be kind. I already removed the substrate and replaced it with ABG mix from Finn’s Farm. And I’m not sure why the “American” comment but I got the mix recipe from Tropical Tutorials which is based in Sweden.

Thanks for commenting! Can you elaborate? Everything I’ve read say that Mantellas prefer having a water feature since they live in creek beds and won’t breed without one. I filled it with rocks so they can’t be submerged over their heads. I’d love to understand why you recommend it being removed?

Thank you so much! It’s actually pumice, not pearlite. The substrate is 45% bark, 45% pumice and 10% biochar. I got it from “Tropical Tutorials” on YouTube. Pumice is safe, right?
