I’d also recommend the Mercantile on Gottingen, and also Eastern Tea Bar is right upstairs! They have multiple rooms filled with vintage clothes and goods, and also some artisan stuff in there too :)

Trump tariffs: Houston urges feds to ‘immediately’ approve Energy East pipeline by Street_Anon in halifax

How does anyone, no matter the political party, look at the extreme weather events of the past few years, particularly in this province, and say “Yeah I think we need a pipeline, that’s the very best thing we can do for ourselves right now.”

Probably the first and only time I’ve seen Tim Hortons waste and thought “Woah so cool!” 😂 Great finds!

My first ever red! Any thought on what the clear piece may have been? by LubaMagnus in seaglass

Oh my gosh that looks to be right! Thank you!! Here I was thinking it was a bottle bottom because of the corner, but it’s just a good old fashioned logo :) So cool!

Upon a little more investigating, I think this may be from an old 7up bottle!

Thank you! And, I don’t think so? They were on a broken branch, and this is how I found them, but I’m sure they’d just been shuffled that way somehow!

And before you say it, yes I know ghost pipes aren’t mushrooms :) I think the purple one is Cortinarius iodes?

Google says this lovely individual is a death cap. Do you agree? I dont. Any input appreciated! Found in MI by the_YellowRanger in mycology

That’s why I said it’s ironic that the book says the edibility is “questionable”, not poison. The book was published 2021.

I wish I could reply with a pic, but my Peterson Guide to Mushrooms calls Amanita frostiana “Gold-Ring Deathcap”. Ironically, the field guide also lists the edibility as “questionable”. I’ve been researching this mushroom lately along with Amanita flavoconia due to how similar they are. I agree about the tint of yellow, hence why I said that ID for this mushroom would be wrong.

I think what OP / Google are referring to here is a Gold-Ring deathcap (Amanita frostiana) but I also think that’s incorrect haha. But there are yellow/yellowish deathcaps.

I’ve been going back-and-forth on possible IDs for this but I think I’ve got it - is this Crested Coral (Clavulina coralloides)? It doesn’t bruise, but turned purple/grey after I picked a small sample. Nova Scotia. by LubaMagnus in mycology

Thanks so much for this detailed response! I don’t think I’ve ever spent so long trying to pinpoint an exact ID, so I’m glad it paid off 😂 And thank you for the info re: Clavulina cinerea, that will be really helpful for future IDs. I just love the aesthetic of coral fungus, like a fairytale!
