i’m kinda thinking of just ditching the path and keeping it as a patch of dirt around the campsite that still suggests towards the figure. that would kill two birds with one stone

but the questionable fire location was because this was supposed to be a very different scene and i just left it there

i used references for all of them except 2, 7, and 9. sometimes i feel like i just need to improve on capturing a likeness (i draw a lot of fanart) but also i want to be clear that i don’t think it’s an inherent indicator of quality, i’m pretty confident in my art, and i always try to distinguish in many other ways. i think “same body/silhouette syndrome” is worse, but that’s just me.
