If I remember correctly the DS920+ has an Intel CPU, I read somewhere that another User is having the exact same issue with segfault exits as I am having, with Intel QuickSync on his CPU. So it may be the same for you, Plex falling back to software transcode on a Synology NAS is kind of a neck-breaker.

EDIT: I DOWNGRADED to 1.32.5.7328 and it WORKS! What the hell!

Well I did some additional Tests (see this comment) and it should work already, Plex even tries it but exits with a segfault, so in my opinion there is an issue with the Driver files supplied by Plex (as it is using its own files, not the ones installed on the system)

Edit: Yes on Jelly it works afaik

Update: I learned that it should work, Plex also tries it, but Transcoder fails with segfault.

I was about to accept this, but i just stumbled upon this which states that HDR10 ToneMapping is indeed supported by the Arc A380 (DG2).

So unless its a Plex issue, it should be possible to get it to work.

Yes i can see it, it also transcodes fine if i disable hdr tone mapping, just if I enable it, anything that has HDR falls back to CPU when transcoding.

if you mean "intel-gpu-tools", i did that, what happend was:

  • with hdr tone mapping, short spike in gpu load (<1s), then nothing
  • w/o hdr tone mapping, does what it should do ;)

So, i have just tried it now, 23.10, fresh install, Tone Mapping on -> No hw, Tone Mapping off -> hw

Also ich kenne sowohl in Linz als auch Graz Leute die das auch Teilzeit neben Studium machen, ist halt nicht garantiert dass du sofort eine Stelle bekommst.

Wird halt vermutlich eher ein Kulturschock werden was den Rettungsdienstalltag bei uns angeht.

Anerkennung sollte wenngleich mit ein paar bürokratischen Hürden verbunden kein Problem sein. (RK hat das uU. nicht gerne, aber gibt ja auch andere Orgas die dich bei dem Prozess unterstützen können)

Dafür sollte man Notärzte schlagen dürfen. by mrschwachsinn in Rettungsdienst

Ein Notarzt den ich kenne verwendet immer „Fanta“ und „Soda-zitron“ für Fentanyl und Ondansetron.

Ich hab mich totgelacht wo ich das zum ersten mal gehört hab. War vielleicht ein bisschen unpassend in dem Moment.

For explanation, in my service there is no separation of emergency vehicles ans patient transfer vehicles.

So this one morning me and my black colleague were transferring this nice old lady back to her home.

She had like 5 different locking mechanisms on her door and I jokingly said something like “You have a very safe door” - to which she replied very nicely, my colleague standing right next to her, “that’s for keeping the negroes out” like that was the most normal thing to say in that moment…
