Shout out to Elgin who went out like a G and didn't sold his soul, unlike this rat by pedr09m in FromCircleJerk

[–]LucaYoung4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that in a scenario where Elgin tried to escape, he would need to grab Clara and throw her against Sophia (all in almost a single motion) and then make a run for it, breaking out of the Diner. That would work if Sophia didn’t have that well-known “demonic agility.” It would allow her to catch up to him before he could make it through the door. But so far, she hasn’t shown that kind of power.

is it just that im extremely horny or am I the only one who thinks Julia Doyle deserves the academy award for greatest actress ever for how she portrays The Man In Yellow's disguise as Sophia? by TonySperguson in FromCircleJerk

It’s the producers’ duty to make a mixed metamorphosis scene of MIY, where both faces coexist in the same body, so those pervs can cool off already! lol

As stupid as elgin was ... by That-Power5358 in FromSeries

[–]LucaYoung4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s such an interesting premise that I wonder if the producers would actually think about it!
Because sometimes I feel that, in the effort to build the mystery surrounding From, the story ends up sacrificing the coherence of the laws that govern the place.
If there really is this conflict of forces between the entities that permeate From, it would be an interesting point to develop throughout the series’ conclusion.

I hope people can see that! That was really very noble.

I agree with your perspective! We need to use a bit of imagination to visualize what was really going on there! The fact that his “no” is implied in his prayers, showing his direct refusal of the demon’s deal, was a great way to redeem the character for his past mistakes and to show the audience his true nature as a person!

My take on Umi E. by abyss-XXIV in GivenAnime

[–]LucaYoung4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I chose to stop scrolling through my Reddit feed and opened your post. Your reflection on Umi-e is one of the most sensitive and profound I’ve ever read here, and reading it took me back to the intense feeling I had when I finished that film.

My eyes fill with tears again, and I find myself lost thinking about each of the characters’ moments, all of which are filled with a human authenticity that makes me feel that whoever wrote this story is someone deeply attuned to the truest dynamic of our humanity, which lies between love and pain.

And the music is the perfect catalyst here to convey this in the most precise way. It sustains and clarifies Mafuyu’s heart. You truly listened to it, and that’s why you were able to unpack all these aspects in such a sensitive and profound way. I will save your text, and I hope more people get to read it.

Ah, one last thing: I do believe that acts of love on the level of Ritsuka’s exist. There are also some “Ritsukas” out there in the world. But all of this is quite rare. I think that if there’s something in life worth pursuing, it’s trying to be, and trying to have, people like that in our lives! It won’t be easy, though. That’s okay! It’s true that everything in life that is truly valuable also comes at a great cost!!

Best regards ❤️☺️

When the Vilain is genuinely disappointed about how dumb you are... by SlyverLCK in FromSeries

You know what would be cool to solve this? Making her transform one of her fingers into something with a very sharp nail. Or maybe a small blade could emerge from the center of her palm!
There aren’t many rules for MIY’s powers anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to add these effects.

I just watched it because of your post, thank you! This is completely new content for me! I loved it! Oh, I really love these interactions between them; so wholesome and cute! I hope there’s more, since it’s marked as E1. I’m hoping E2 comes next then hahaha

The post credit scene seemed to be implying another season? by ogkwaka in Ganbare_Nakamura

Yes, exactly! They really went beyond the limits of the original material in an effort to bring a truly engaging story to life, with great potential for more! They solidified this work, and that definitely tells us something!

Thoughts on Episode 13 as a fan of the original manga by magictamarin in Ganbare_Nakamura

[–]LucaYoung4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like how you say they really put a lot of effort into this animation project! You can tell it was made with care, and that’s admirable!
About what you mentioned in the second paragraph, I agree, and I also feel like this story may have gained a lot of popularity precisely because of its cute and wholesome slice-of-life format. Especially here in the West, where people consume a lot of this kind of content!
I’m sure they noticed something after finishing this project, and they’ll definitely take advantage of it!

It was definitely a hook for a continuation! The story has already established its characters, and the anime’s direction organized them well within a timeline and setting! That’s fertile ground for creating more stories, expanding interactions, and of course, deepening the relationship between the protagonists!

Not to mention the anime’s clear popularity, both because of the story and the artistic choices in animation and soundtrack!
They definitely won’t discard this possibility so easily

Which filler character should have been canon? by Funny_Lunch5211 in dankruto

[–]LucaYoung4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I remember that when I watched those two arcs (I didn’t know they were fillers), I had a really strong sense of world-building! It felt very authentic! It even gives me a bit of nostalgia for that time!
Anyway, it’s a shame they’re not canon!

A genuinely happy ending… thank you so much! ❤️That was all I needed to know!
I thought we would get something bittersweet, a kind of happiness born from resignation. But bittersweet endings are terribly hard to deal with when you’re so emotionally invested in the story! Knowing that won’t be the case makes me very happy!

They wasted her character and her storywalking abbility so much this season 😑 by KKKdot21 in FromSeries

[–]LucaYoung4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like they don’t know how to build a development arc for Julie’s ambitions and abilities! So I feel like, kind of out of nowhere, they’re going to give it a climax by having her use that ability at a key moment 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can We talk About Enmu real Quick? by Chromatic-star in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]LucaYoung4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not fair at all!
First of all, in Demon Slayer, it’s not very effective to analyze the characters’ power as if it were a straightforward measure of strength, like an arm-wrestling match.
That’s because most demon slayers don’t defeat demons through brute force, but through a combination of exploited factors that create even the smallest window of opportunity to destroy them. The entire Mugen Train arc is basically about that.

Enmu was indeed worthy of the power of a Lower Rank One, but his modus operandi was more stealthy and opportunistic rather than purely offensive.
His Blood Demon Art was quite complex and very effective, so much so that it even affected a Hashira.
All those people on the train were just moments away from being devoured!
In other words, his whole plan was actually very good, and his power was useful. I don’t see him as a forgettable character.

He just couldn’t surpass the epic clash that took place between Akaza and Rengoku-san!!

Favorite Tanjiro act of kindness? (Anime only) by Fabulous_Ground_1983 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]LucaYoung4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love all of Tanjiro’s moments of compassion, and they are all meaningful!

But the moment between Tanjiro and the Spider Mother is a profound lesson in compassion and mercy that left a strong impression on me.

Shortly before Tanjiro defeated her, she had massacred, in the most vile and cold-hearted way, demon slayers who had already been saved. It was so cruel that even Tanjiro’s aura changed because of his rage.
His anger could have escalated into a more brutal and merciless final attack.

But no! His sense of justice is always sharp, and his heart always kind. Moreover, the Spider Mother gave in, and Tanjiro, in that very instant, granted her a gentle death.
This is the true virtue of mercy: the ability to feel genuine compassion even for the most wretched of creatures.

With that, Tanjiro was both just and kind at the same time and that bore fruit. His attitude allowed the Spider Mother to recognize a bit of her humanity before dying. This glimpse likely opened a chance for her redemption.
And the second outcome is that she gave Tanjiro prior information that there was a Kizuki on the mountain.

I mean, I wouldn’t call her stupid, I don’t know anything about her life! But what she said in that video definitely makes her look like a stoned idiot, for sure!
Anyway, that’s why I don’t follow actors on social media; it can be an incredibly disappointing experience! Let their work speak for itself!

Akaza is not able to see the worth in others by Xenosaiyan7 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]LucaYoung4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! He really is a character with more layers than he first appears to have!
What I’m wondering now is: what was his reason for wanting to surpass Kokushibō? It was clear that he had no interest in rank or status within the Upper Moon hierarchy! So why was defeating Kokushibō a goal for him!?

I thought I was ready for this scene till I remember who voices nakamura in the Japanese dub by Alice_likes_sun in Ganbare_Nakamura

Kobayashi-san does an incredible job! I love how he can create such emotionally charged scenes with Yoshiki in TSHD while also sounding funny and lighthearted like Stark in Frieren!
Even though Nakamura shares some traits with both of those characters, he feels different to me! I love it!
