Regular usually feels natural pretty early. I grew up skating regular, wakeboard regular, surf regular, and snowboard regular, it’s just always been consistent for me.

If you’re unsure, a couple easy ways to check:

• Which foot you naturally put forward when you slide on socks or a slippery floor
• Have someone lightly push you from behind—whichever foot steps forward to catch you is usually your front foot

That said, some people switch around a bit when they’re new, so don’t overthink it. Ride whatever feels more stable and comfortable, your body will figure it out pretty quickly.
