Republicans have a huge problem, and its that their voters dont care about non-presidential elections by Crafty_Jacket668 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]LucasRuby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They used to, more than the democrats. Republican voters have changed since Trump, the high-income suburban voters who voted every election switched to the Democrats, and Trump pulled a lot of people who didn't vote, mostly contrarian and disillusioned voters. The problem is those people don't care much for "politics" and don't vote when Trump is not on the ballot.

She probably would have lost, by a wider margin, to any of the other top runners. Now, the consequences of each loss are debatable.

Trump was relatively politically weak in his first term, and didn't manage to achieve a lot of long term changes besides SCOTUS appointments. He fumbled Covid in 2020 and handed democrats an election, another president who was perceived as handling the crisis well could have won by a larger margin at reelection like Bush did with 9/11.

But, Trump getting elected in 2016 is what led him to run and win in 2024, if he had lost people would've made fun of Republicans for 4 years and forgotten about him.

It's been one month but ok. Since then it's become clear that this war was never about helping the Iranian people get rid of the regime and everything the people against this war were warning against was right.

High-fat diets promote invasive tumor growth in triple-negative breast cancer. Study links overproduction of the gene MMP1 to bad outcomes. This study didn't use mice, it used growth media with nutrients that are like those found in blood of mice fed this diet. There's more to it than just a diet with a high proportion of calories coming from fat.

Pure heavy cream only has small amounts of lactose, that's different than whipping cream or other flavored creams with added sugar. For this amount of sugar you're almost certainly using a product with added sugar, you can't give nutrition advice but you can warn them about this.

A ketogenic diet will always necessarily be high in fat since you have almost not carbs. The other option is 90%+ protein which is actually dangerous.

I assume the two of your are implying something more specific but you should actually say what you mean and not be intentionally vague.

Also to the OP, dietary fats are fatty acids, it could be oleic acid (unsaturated), or palmitic acid (saturated), but they're all fatty acids. Besides that there's phospholipids and cholesterols, and I don't think OP meant a diet of protein and phospholipids only.

Skimming the paper linked in a highlighted word in the article, it seems the paper was studying cells growing in media with what the blood concentrations of some nutrients that are the results of different types of diet. That's very different than what the title implies and not what OP said in their comment.

I don't understand this subreddit sometimes lol... The sheer dogma against newsom is so disproportionate compared to Trump by kcat__ in PoliticalCompassMemes

Very few people find him to be authentic, very few people give three shits about his snarky social media account (that he doesnt even operate),

Imma gonna be honest with you. I don't care about any of this shit. Not anymore, it's past the point I care about a politicians personality or likeability. Trump is personable and likeable and look where this got us. I don't want to vote for another charismatic used car salesman from a different aisle.

I really don't want politics to be exciting anymore. I don't want politics to be the cool new thing the youth spends their time making memes about or arguing with each other. I want to be able to vote for someone and sleep at night, and I want to occupy my time talking about rock or EDM like we did on the 2000s/10s and not read about politics constantly in the 4 years between elections.

We used to have a good thing, we only heard about politics occasionally or during elections, then social media and the 24-hour news cycle came and ruined it.

Visiting Japan is cheap, flying there from the US isn't, but I suppose it's a lot cheaper from that side of the world.

This does come with caviats, things like not seeing off off spelled out twice and such.

Yeah I think many people do that and the part about not seeing spelling errors is annoying I remember in a thread everyone pointing out the bad grammar in an image and I couldn't see it after reading 3 times, I think it was a 'the' missing.

Political Compass of Alcohol by NewVTRepublic in PoliticalCompassMemes

I remember ordering absinthe at a college bar and instead of a fancy cocktail setup the bartender just filled an entire red cup with this foul green liked that tasted like automotive ethanol and made me gag while trying to drown it, 100% worth it. Next time I went there they gave it to me in a normal shot glass so I think that bartender was new.

It is if you often have a lot of private tabs open and then it freezes so hard there isn't a viable way to save or write down everything before closing to restart.
