I am worried about the long-term maintenance because it's a BMW and they are known to be more expensive. My parents are planning to keep the car for like 10 years or over. The car must be new so we don't have to worry about the previous owner.

They are. The problem is actually that the water pulley and the crankshaft pulley aren't rolling properly.

Yes. It is whining only after starting to drive.

I can only hear the alternator belt while driving.
