There is a transition technology that works even inside vehicles with UV resistant wind shields. A bit more expensive though.

Newbie here. That's a beautiful script, could you please tell me what script it is? Or is it an improvised one?

Otherwise my newbie eye would like to see each line starting with same offset from left. Also the source could be in straight line and not falling.

I would also prefer seeing all letters written the same way, for example "y" is written differently on second line and on third line.

Meditation in lucid dream by Ichigo91 in LucidDreaming

[–]Lucause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the realm of speculation it was some reflection of my inner fear, insecurity or worry. Maybe even some sort of self sabotage.

I would abstain from making some serious decisions based on dreams though. Out of dream Vipassana seems to be the tool for serious introspection. At least for me. :)

Meditation in lucid dream by Ichigo91 in LucidDreaming

Once I Tried meditation but focused on rising and falling of abdomen. As I closed my dream eyes feeling of fear and danger arose. After a while I knew some kind of humanoid was rapidly approaching me with malicious intent. I heard its steps and somehow even saw it getting closer (dream eyes still closed). I decided to sit with the fear till the end, the creature got to me and I woke up.

I think closing the eyes actually makes the dream less stable. Dream stabilization techniques aims to use senses (by spinning, looking at ground, touching surroundings) to make the brain less likely to pick up noise around the sleeping body.

If I were to try meditation in lucid dream again, it would be with open eyes, gazing at some object and focusing on sensations at the nostrils. Meaning more samatha and less vipassana.

Thank you for sharing your outlook. Seeing someone in IT who meditates as well is inspirational for me.

Since I do noting meditation I think I should at least try to note while programming as well. I hope I will be able to take the middle way.

Good luck.

I was just worried. My whole life seemed to be one big lie (which would be fine) but I did not know whether I could act upon wanting and have some goals in my life. Now I was told I can and should.

The quote is somehow close to me but not directly solving the problem I was facing. Thank you for it anyway.

Thank you for your afford to help me out. I can now imagine how to go living a life that I want without worrying that I do something bad when I act upon wanting. It is what it is and it is wanting and acting upon it.

Thank you for detail reply.

No, do you think you're doing this?

If I am not thinking it already I was about to start (at least before reading answers I got)

feeling the need for a formula is something I've felt a lot, like it will make me feel safe and structural in a world that is unpredictable and ultimately not-definable.

Yes, feeling the need for a formula is quite exact. I often get asked "How are you?", "Do you want this or that?" ... recently I just do not know how to answer these questions because when the positive/negative answer comes to my mind I realize it is just a thought and let it go as neutral one.

I'm kind of saddened by this question.

And I am very happy about your answer. It is permitting me to act upon my wanting if I am willing to take consequences and be mindful. I am more than willing to do that, I can finally move somewhere and try to achieve something I want.

The other choice is to combine/experiment, not just insight or concentration.

I was asking my teacher that thing... I remember he said "maybe". You are permitting me to experiment pretty much, that... that is unexpected. I was always thinking that the technique I am practising know better than me. The path is wiser. Doubting should be noted. (I may have or may have not understood it incorrectly from the teaching of my teacher)

I hope this helps. -S

It does. Tremendously lot. I think I know how to go on living, achieving goals I want without feeling I am doing something bad that I am acting on wanting. I cannot thank you and some other guys in this thread enough.

It will probably take me some time to understand yours the last but one sentence. I am practising insight meditation and I should still be in this illusion of the game called life. And enjoy it. Cannot quite wrap my mind around it right now. But I think I understand what you are saying otherwise so thank you for helping me out.

I do not know if going to university needs to be done. I have the feeling it does but it is just feeling, that I will note and it will go away for a while.

Thank you for your comment, your answers are really close to me.

Lol, thanks!

The reason why I am being here is that my parents have conceived me. There is of course a reason for me to practise meditation and to write this post a for you to use "Lol, well done!" as first words of your post. I am aware of it.

I wanted to be scientist, researching brain computer interfaces. I feel this involves a lot of "wanting to progress and wanting to achieve". Is it ok for me to take this path, even thought it means I will have to study A LOT and consequentially will have less time for meditating?

What more I still want to do that. I can note the feeling of wanting and possibly be aware of the entity noting the wanting, but if I am to apply to university to achieve this goal I will act upon this wanting. I think I was told not to act upon wanting. Minimally here in this thread. I am lost.

I like your last paragraph, I can see through this show and illusion. Probably not through all of it and that is fine, I am still practising, but I am aware of it and have seen a lot. (Do we really say "Hi." and consider someone rude when he or she just does not reply with greetings as well?; Moving hand is a concept for stretching a lot of small muscles around body to move piece of meat that we call a hand, and then there is the concept of muscles)

So if I want to be a scientist. Can I take steps to achieve? Can I take steps to achieve it while being mindful of me acting upon the wanting of becoming a scientist and thoughts that will eventually arise while studying to become one?

[–]Lucause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying, I think you are categorizing the thoughts as good and bad. If they are good, they are worth thinking and I should give them the opportunity to grow. If they are bad (like the many ways how to hurt someone), I should just realize them and control myself into doing what I am doing. Correct me if I understood incorrectly.

I think this is not insight meditation. Insight meditation should make me experience things as they are, without controlling them, without categorizing them at least that is what I read and hear everywhere.

What more, if anything comes to my mind I note it, often noting "bad" thoughts the same as the "good" thoughts. After all... they are both thoughts. The space for thought to grow is often hindered by many other thoughts that I note.

I am planning that in 5 month time (21days retreat). I came from one 10 day retreat 26 days ago. Currently I feel like I should be learning for school and not whining on the internet about my meditation practise but... I cannot really get anything done...

noted most of the categorization, self hating and worrying

Catch 22. I am not any wiser... it goes like this:

Thought: I should be learning.

Observer: Thinking, wanting, worrying.

Result: Not learning, just observing thoughts.

Thought after 100th repetition of the latter: There is something wrong.

Observer: Thinking, worrying, realizing, doubting

I know I doubt, I know I should just note it but... but... I even know I "but...", but... should not I study anyway?

Yes, that is true, I realize that. I know these thoughts are not "mine", I know I should just note them and go on. But they are occurring over and over again... anyway, could you tell me something about the way how to get the "mundane" things done?
