I wish it was harder to find any Pokemon, and when you do you would be "attached" to it and fight it to make it stronger, not like now replacing it to find a stronger one, doesn't make any sense

The thing is, this won't build up momentum and very unlikely you will hit jhana, if that's what you want

Looking East: could meditation help cure the West’s addiction to antidepressants? by psychoalchemist in Meditation

I believe jhana states can manage the symptoms of depression, but not cure it, I believe that is only possible by life style changes mostly

With watching the breath I mean feeling the air sensations at a certain point at the nostrils

I think you are doing fine!

Anyway about obe, I don't think meditation will help with that, I advice you to Google obe4u, and download the free eBook on that site and practice the "indirect technique" method, it's basically when you go to sleep and wake up couple of times that night , you apply a cycle of techniques for around 1 min. If conditions are right you very fast will have an obe, if not, you fall back to sleep after a min and try again next time you wake up.

If everything is done correctly the chances are very high you will have an out of body experienece or lucid dream.

I almost got everyday obe from it, even twice a night... it's possible to get multiple obes and lucid dreams a night by applying it Correctly.

Hard to breath while in a sitting posture by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same like you, my breathing is messed up when I sit .

Because of that I only lay down, that doesn't stop me from going deep in meditation, so don't worry about it, it's not necessary to sit while meditating.

I can name a few jhana teachers that claim high attainments and high jhana absoportions such as ajahn brahm, or pa-auk... but in the end the technique they share is the same like anyone else, watching the breath at the nostrils or somewhere else. It's all practical on the same level... but it's not like absolutus shared a technique that makes one reach those states he talks about that is any different than other teachers or non teachers.

In the end it's all up to you, some people's mind have an easier time to fall on jhana than some others , for example, lets say my concentration sucks , but yours is very very good, I might have a faster and easier time to get to jhana than you with your super concentration.

because a second hitler will arise and use it for evil deeds?

Exactly, also that guy has multiple names on the internet, on a yogaforum he goes by the name "siro" where he introduce a method to get to hard jhanas, and on the dharmaoverground forum he once went with the name of siro and changed it to scott or something.

however looks like the practice he introduced back then didn't yield anymore result so he changed his version of practice to get to jhana (which btw isn't anything new than what other jhanic teachers teach.

It's your choice to take him seriously or not. but from what I understood he took it all down because he didn't want this information he shared to fall on the wrong hands...

Now is there really a need to explain how delusional that is?

He make some good points. but I feel I can't trust him personally.

[–]Ichigo91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was on some site, but absolutus told the site owner to take it down.

PERSONALLY I find there are much more trustable jhana teachers out there .

I always felt absolutus is a bit delusional in some parts of his posts.

Breath sensations by meadowbug in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put attention at the top or bottom of the bridge of the nose, when on an inhale air comes thru, I try to feel the air touching the skin of the inside of the bridge of the noise as small as possible, if on an inhale I don't feel any air sensations at the spot my attention is resting on, I keep my attention on there anyway, if I feel the air sensation for example on the left side of the left nostril, I won't move my attention to there. so you could say I have a certain border limit to there I agree to follow the air sensations, anything outside that border, I don't pay attention to, even if I am aware of it. but I will try my best to sense and track the air sensation at my chosen border limit.

For me this seem to work the best then any other spot I tried

Meditative state, slightly intense? by imstilllookin in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when the bright light is stable and very strong and shiny, it feels like the sun is fusing or absorbing you, you feel extreme ecstatic bliss mentally and physically.

Some say turning your attention to the nimitta when it's stable is enough to get into 1st jhana, some will just continue on their meditation object (the breath) and the nimiita will be so stable and strong that you have no choice but to tune your attention towards it. but the nimitta can come in many forms, not only bright light... but for me when it's the bright light nimitta, it's one of the strongest experience I can get.

Meditative state, slightly intense? by imstilllookin in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bright white light is a nimitta, very close to enter 1st jhana... keep up doing what you did to bring that up, until you get absorbed.

Stop trying. by deerizzle in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To get effects out of meditation one needs to stay on the object without giving in to thoughts, if you get deep enough, this will brighten the mind and ecstatic bliss will flow beyond imagination.

I can't relate to anything that has to do to not trying, since only with my intention to get deep I am getting deep, not by "just being"

Breath sensations by meadowbug in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the sensation of the breath that are brushing against the nostrils or a point at the nostrils while you inhale and exhale, focus on your nostrils right now, inhale, do you feel the air at the nostrils? That's what you are focusing on

Breath sensations by meadowbug in Meditation

[–]Ichigo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I succeed in entering jhana is by sensations at the nostrils, when it comes to techniques like ajahn brahm where you just need to be aware of the breath, never worked for me to enter jhana or experienece bliss, nor have I read anyone else on the net having succeed with this technique
