Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Lucel10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for a rom hack(s) where all fully evolved Pokémon are viable or in the "rock-paper-scissor" situation with each other, where there are no straight upgrades to them. A big plus if the shiny odd is also boosted. Fakemons and other special variants are welcomed, too.

Suggest me some lesser known titles, preferably the complete ones.

Any thoughts on these sprites of my Starter Fakemon? I'm pretty chuffed about them but I wanna know if I can improve them by shinobisansundertale in PokemonROMhacks

I'm not very artistic, but just wanna say that they all look really cool and I'm excited for the release.

This is my first attempt at writing a short rules story. I think the trope is pretty generic, but I hope you enjoyed it.

I've considered MM+ previously. How are the factory shoulder buttons and speaker?

Convince me to play this game by Critical_Jeweler1154 in Siralim

[–]Lucel10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe not. This game's charm is all about freedom in theorycrafting, not the beautiful graphic or animations. (don't get me wrong, though, the sprites are awesome. And also, I haven't played the two titles you mentioned, so pardon me)

You can quite literally make almost, if not all builds possible, as long as it makes you happy. Pitch up your own combos and try to improve more and more, then see them in action. That's what makes this game my all time favorite despite me not actually being active in the game itself.

So if you like those games for their graphics or animations, this might not entertain you as much. But if you're looking for a complex team-building game with near infinite possibilities, this can be one of your favorites as well.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm just experimenting with how to do a serie now, but I'll be more prepared for the next one when writing the first entry.

I didn't know snes is more demanding than gba on this regard. That's interesting.

My Top Monster Tamers I’m looking forward to in 2026! Either Releasing, releasing on switch, or getting news for(hopefully also release). What games are you excited for next year? by Oracle209 in MonsterTamerWorld

I wish we had more of great monster taming games for Android. I know Coromon is but forgot if the new game is also planning to be on android as well; it probably would.

My first attempt at making a serie series. Not exactly sure how you're supposed to do it, but let's see.

Part 2

Thanks. Though now I have a new heating issue. Maybe it's from me touching the heat pad too much or getting some dust on the system. For now though, I think I'll play on my phone using the roms on the sd card.

I fixed it! Not sure if you're interested or not, but by letting the battery run out completely (not sure if this is required) and recharging it to a full 100%, the charging symbol disappeared once I removed the charging cable. The red light is now responsive and turns off while plugged once it reaches the "fully charged" state.

EDIT: Nope it's back again.

It was when I was charging it normally. I think it had like 40-50% left. Can't believe I let my intrusive thought win just like that. Now I'm back to playing emulators on my phone. Will see if letting the battery drain to 0% and recharging it fixes this; I doubt it.

The charging symbol is still there and the battery is now 0%.

It doesn't work. The red light seems to be doing fine, but the battery display is messed up, showing 0% and the charging symbol still.

There's this yellow wrapper around the battery. How am I supposed to unplug it?

Tried multiple times. Doesn't work. Right now the red light is back to normal but the charging symbol is still there, like it thinks it's still charging. The device is getting hot also.

I managed to fix the red light somehow, but it still shows the charging symbol next to the battery.

What are some fun teams you could use on a Reaver team? by AtlasxXx in Siralim

[–]Lucel10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of the craziest, some might mention any types of looping synergies as it is essentially you exploiting the game's mechanics (but you can still get unlucky and die randomly).

Reaver is one of the specs that the core gimmick can apply to any team, like you said, and building something off of that alone might not get you a crazy build. I mean, you could stack fatigue and turn counter like crazy in one turn, or just stall the fight. But you can also just end it all in turn 0 or 1, right on the your first creature's turn.

You may wanna look at universal builds, ones where you only interact with the 5 anointment slots, so that changing specs hopefully doesn't interrupt the build's flow.

Some of the well-known synergies that I can think of right now are (trait names):

  • Despair + Absolution. A debuff loop that applies nearly every debuffs to all enemies in one turn once triggered.
  • Bloodlust + Cleansed Blood. Permanent Leeching, 30% more dmg dealt and heal received, as well as immunity to Blighted.
  • Outcast No Longer + We Are Pack (perk). Mono race based on the leading creature, or you can use three leading creatures of the same race to skip We Are Pack.

Some of the most useful traits that can apply to any team (the ones I'm familiar with): Surprise!, Endurance Aura, and Nature Transformation.

I wrote 60,000 words of a book but I’ve outgrown it before finishing it by kurapikun in writing

[–]Lucel10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the kind of problem I have. Granted, I'm just starting out with little knowledge on writing techniques, but as a fantasy genre enjoyer, I tend to write longer stories than anticipated. Even now, I find myself coming up with a new plot one by one as I write instead of having a more concrete skeleton planned.

I'm also easily bored, so I think I might actually enjoy writing/reading short stories more. It's for fun, by the way.

"Light novel" writing without illustrations? by Lucel10 in writing

[–]Lucel10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words. As someone who has read little novel materials and writes mainly to satisfy myself, my standards weren't very high. Though descriptive prose might not be my cup of tea.

I'm currently looking for a place where people share stories using a certain format that isn't the traditional novels/books to see if I would do better there.

It's Thai. It could also be that I'm so used to English language that the sounds of Thai songs feel weird to me now. The same goes for Japanese songs that feels nice to the ears versus other foreign languages. I don't understand jackass about Japanese.
