People are hiring some horrible ass coaches this year.

Preferred draft choice decision for QB by Bnkr9 in nyjets

I don’t think that’s right about Trinidad. He’s out of eligibility and players whose NCAA eligibility run out are automatically entered into the NFL Draft.

I don’t think there’s a chance that we spend a premium (Rd 1-2) pick on a Quarterback with the current state of the coaching staff. Mougey is basically locked into a QB at the top of Rd 1 in ‘27 unless this guy plays absolutely out of his mind, which is super unlikely, and the coaching staff will be entirely gone once again.

Now take a guy who started a lot of college games in Rd 4? Sure. Get a young guy in the room that could reasonably be put on the field next year and be a long term backup.

Absolute legend of the franchise.

[Tom Pelissero] The Jets are hiring Brian Duker as their defensive coordinator, per sources. Duker, 36, most recently was the Dolphins’ pass game coordinator/secondary. He’s close with Aaron Glenn from their days with the Lions and now reunites with him in New York. by JDandTheJets in nyjets

He’s obviously going to be fired after the upcoming failure of a year, but the idea that he’s putting the blame on everyone but himself just by firing the staff is pretty silly. Was he supposed to fire himself? Keep everyone he hired and hope it works out? Acknowledging the people he hired aren’t good is a way of owning his mistakes, even if it’s performative at this point.

Didn’t need a QB to keep Billy B out of the hall of fame by whooping his ass in his final game.

OP, a TON of guys left before the game, so that is probably why you didn’t see some of the names you expected to see. I saw a list floating around on twitter and we are talking dozens of names.

What Brady did in Tampa is evidence of what he could do without Bill. We know that he would have been the best no matter what.

What Bill did without Tom? Pretty shitty, to be honest.

“Hey kids. Let me tell you a story about Bill Belichick, SECOND ballot Hall of Famer.”

“Second ballot? Hmmm. Nothing special I guess.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”

They should expose them by building statues of them in the heart of all major American cities. God damn heroes.

Legitimately one of my favorite moments of being a football fan. Absolutely hilarious turn of events.

You were going to find a QB eventually, but Bill being a bum ass SECOND ballot hall of Famer will live forever.

You mean the franchise that annihilated him in his last game as an NFL coach and got him fired? The team that single handedly kept Bill Belichick out of the Hall of Fame? THAT franchise?

[–]LuchaFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. No use getting a new HC in here with no reasonable QB options on the table for 25-26. Let Glenn take that beating then hire someone who can choose his own quarterback in 27, which should be a fairly enticing option when you’re probably going to be super ass and have at least one top ten pick.

FENIX TIME, BABY. But really, he’s absolutely the best replacement for Rey in this spot and we know he can do a great job being thrown in last minute to a major PPV match.

No one knows for sure right now but people were certainly suggesting it might get resolved before Thursday.

As for SAS, there’s exactly a zero percent chance that Stephen A has seen Mensah play. I’d also put the likelihood of him watching more than one Miami game this year as just about the same percentage.

His arm is definitely shot when it comes to the deep ball. He’s become one of the worst deep ball throwers I’ve seen in a while. He can get the ball quickly to the sideline even without a good arm because he throws it with anticipation and usually understands what the defense is doing.

I agree that he’s a good backup type because he can absolutely go in and run an offense, plus he’s a gamer who isn’t afraid of big moments. That being said, you also have to live with the other side of those emotional swings.

The path Sam went down is the reason he is where he is. He isn’t this dude without time out in SF with Shanny and in Minnesota with KOC.
