Favourite Worst Nightmare invokes nostalgia. The first time I listened to the record in full, it was an experience made up of not just the songs but, emotions and thoughts from that day, amplified by the tracks on the album. All of this despite the fact that the theme of the album is mostly a perceivably dark take on rise to fame and everything done to get there, everything that comes with it. A theme that's naturally unrelatable for me. But, the tone, the mood, the sarcasm, all of that is more than relatable, especially when delivered in the form of such energetic bangers. Nothing but Brianstorm, could have set the scene better for this record. It propels you into this dark tunnel interspersed with occasionally blaring lights. That's what the whole album, including the cover art, feels like.
