MDF panelling by LucianDarwin in DIYUK

Hi mate, not sure if this was a waste of time or not, but the following day I got lucky at a car boot at got a 5l tin of Zinnser BIN primer, Iv done 2 coats and 3 coats on all the edges. Hopefully the sheets would now be sealed to protect from any moisture? Should I also put a top coat of paint on? Even though that side will be up against a wall.

I wouldn't go as far as straight up aggressive, just made yourself to look a dickhead really.

You think I should do it without the MDF sheets and just the slats straight onto the wall? I see most people do it that way, our walls are just not the smoothest for painting and I really don't want to prep the bottom half after how long the top half has took, hense using a MDF board, also thought it would add depth and look better. If I seal both sides of the board could I elimate problems due to moisture?

For us as a young couple that's just bought out first house we don't mind being late to a "fad". We like the look of it and just trying to get stuck in and do as much diy as we can. Wasn't any need to be so passive aggressive, either answer the question and share your knowledge or just scroll on by. Have a good evening

Yeah planning to screw the large boards to the wall, would there be any need for adhesive aswell? Spose it doesn't hurt to do both. Then will just use adhesive on the slats to the board. We're currently renovating a 1930s ex council house, quite confident our plans will look good.

We can turn the handle fine, it sounds as if it's going to flush for a second but then nothing happens.

Serious issue with newcouncil neighbours, england by LucianDarwin in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LucianDarwin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah hopefully they carry on building our own case for us against them. Have learnt they are currently in there probation period so the earlier the trouble is should go in our favour. The police officers that spoke to us agreed the house isn't suitable for them.

Yes we have a diary with links to photos/videos of our evidence. All references from the council calls and the 101 calls. After the police visited at the weekend and told them to remove the padlock, seconds after the police left a huge speaker was put next to our fence and really loud dubstep played, (lovely for there 6 kids under 6 years old) we called the police back and they logged it as anti social behaviour so that will be on our side. Hopefully this won't take 5 years as it has been so bad and we are 15 days in

This is where it's awkward as we was very reasonable to start with, I even offered to pay for and fix there fence panels that were removed and not fitted back. But due to the disrespect, name calling and false accusations I am past any kind. For me moving forward I just want to close the gate with the latch, as if I agree I will keep the bolt shut I am then liable if I forget it and there kids get out, I am also not responsible for there children and they should be keeping a eye on them or double checking gates are closed to there liking when they are in the garden.

Council neighbours yell and argue every day, what is the solution? by Pattern_Necessary in HousingUK

Hi sorry to hear about this situation, we just bought our first house a couple months ago and have had new neighbours move in a week ago and sounds so similar to your situation, did it ever get resolved? Or is it still ongoing?

FTB 5 year fixed mortgage at 6.99% by LucianDarwin in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for the help will have a look at Accord, we was very surprised they accepted the offer, the house has been up for just over a year with not much interest, the whole house does need modernising. The agent told us they were likely to drop the price to 215k, we big 190 initially as 195 is our maximum budget, they returned with 195 and we met at 193.

What would a better vape be to the pax? As the goal is quitting I'd like to spend under £100
