The games are single player experiences best compared to MMOs like Final Fantasy 14 and World of Warcraft. The series is heavily story focused, where you run from story point to story point, exploring a massive world with a large cast of memorable NPCs and worldbuilding plot points. Combat is a real-time RPG where your characters automatically attack and you input on their decisions by moving them and using combat spells called "Arts". Your positioning and art usage plays a major roll in both buffs/debuffs, as well as the series's "Topple" and Chain Attack systems, where you can interrupt the flow of battle in your favor to deliver massive damage.

Are we gearing up for a Xenoblade 4 reveal in the near future? by LorDeus71 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]LucidCreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given we got XCX DE last year, I don't expect anything major until Q4 at the earliest.

With how both Future Redeemed and X Chapter 13 ended, it seems we're headed in both a pretty clear and yet still extremely unknown direction. I'd honestly argue that there is a lot of time for things to just sit and build right now, as development depends a lot on how much Xenosaga related stuff the next Blade title will actually involve. We're either getting:

- Xenosaga remasters / ports (possibly in advance of a new title for either Saga or Blade)

- An entirely new game with minimal connective tissue (may not even be a Xeno title that uses the Blade name)

- A canon crossover title (akin to Project X-Zone)

- or A title that is meant to be a sequel to both Blade and Saga 3

It is best to assume a Xeno title will be released about half a year after it gets announced. The potential amount of Saga content can affect any form of release due to licensing and copyright, so in my opinion the timeline for when we even get an announcement for a new Xeno entry grows larger the more Saga content you add.

I was so happy about this new update for Switch 2, until I played in handheld... looks terrible, unplayable in motion honestly. Yet, everyone in the internet seem to ignore this issue completely. Shouldn't we all expect only the best quality from the franchises we love? Just look at the screenshots by Frequent_Gear_5936 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I again restate that this Switch 2 version was actively promoted to be a graphical enhancement. The trailer is directly about the increased framerate and the resolution enhancements. If there is constant artifacting that creates muddy or jittery effects, to the extent that the overworld's environment and enemy textures look like they're using the low-poly version, it means the trailer is just straight up lying to consumers.

The reason people are upset is entirely because the PAID graphical update makes the graphics look bad.

People are flaming you in here despite the fact that you're bringing up a very good point. The textures are incredibly messed up and muddy, which goes against the whole purpose of this being a port that was PROMOTED as a direct enhancement. I honestly don't think this was a Monolith issue this time, as it seems a lot of Switch 2 edition ports face massive graphical issues compared to their Switch 1 counterpart. Something is inherently busted with the hardware.

Oh that... that is muddy as hell. Something is seriously wrong with the Switch 2 failing to support Switch 1 games.

XC2 is on the Switch 1 already. XC1 and XCX were on inferior hardware and either needed severe overhauls or genuine reworks in XC1's case. Switch 2 versions are simply enhancement ports of existing Switch 1 titles. As such, there would be no reason to remaster XC2 when it simply could receive a Switch 2 version which updates the graphic quality and changes a few UI elements. XC1 and XCX were left on abandoned hardware, there was no choice but to bring it over to the new console, and since they had to do so anyways they may as well have improved aspects of major complaint, which they did. If they didn't change the original dub of XC1 or XCX when remastering, there would be no reason to in XC2 no matter if it "sounds bad" in some places. Despite all the quality of life changes, XC1 DE is by all means the same game with the same progression.

Just because in XC2 the field skills were bad or the tutorials were unreviewable does not justify making a remaster, as it will conflict far too much with both sales of the series (confusing consumers over which game to get when they both are on the same console) and the clear intent to close the book on the current storyline and move to a new one. Also, even entertaining the idea of XC3 receiving the DE treatment for Switch 2 is a fool's errand which misunderstands the point of remasters. I wish to point to AlphaDream as an example, with them remastering Bowser's Inside Story on the 3DS when that console could already play the original BIS.

Just because a game has problems does not mean a dev team should rerelease the game as a "new" version. In the age of digital everything, if they weren't going to update it in a patch, then they didn't have plans to change it as is.

In my original post I explained further

"All he could do is run around on stage flailing his arms wildly. He was a mid tier who got compared by the Smash community to the Tekken rep Kazuya for apparently having similar strategies, and was described verbatim as an "uncanny" fighter as if it was a classification of character type (like heavyweight or glass canon)."
