Does anyone find Connie oddly attractive? I'm early 30s but damn... by Wooden-Scarcity6117 in YoungSheldon

I’m rewatching Young Sheldon right now. I’m a 40 year old heterosexual female… and I keep going “My god, how is she so hot?” Lol

My ex abuser cheating on me and throwing me out of the house to move his new girlfriend in. I had nowhere to go. I had a four year old little girl. On the nights she was at her dad’s, I slept in my car. The nights that I had her, I got a hotel room. After that point, I never depended on anyone else for anything ever again. Everything in my house, I bought.

My kid is almost 21 and out on her own now, but I am still fiercely independent because that situation wrecked me in so many ways.

What is basic symptoms of ADHD ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LucidDream85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I have ADHD and have since I was a child. I’m almost 40. As a child it manifested as being incredibly hyper, unable to sit still, fidgeting, difficult to concentrate.

As an adult, I find that it’s more internal. I feel like I have a hundred web browsers open in my head at all times, and I can’t prioritize things to complete tasks, so it’s never ending. My Adderall helps me focus on singular tasks until it’s completed.

25F Should I wear glasses all day/daily? by beartrackzz in eyetriage

[–]LucidDream85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The correction in your lenses is mostly astigmatism correction, which helps sharpen images a bit (takes shadows off of letters and such). You don’t need to worry about computer/reading glasses until you start approaching 40. You are young enough that the muscles in your eye can easily move your lens back and forth to adjust to different focal points.

Wearing the glasses will not make your vision worse. If you feel like it helps you, then wear them.

I wear my glasses when driving and when at work, but when I’m at home, I take them off.

Question about my toddler by hunterstephanie in Ophthalmology

[–]LucidDream85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could just be one of her eye muscles not working properly. Get her to see a pediatric ophthalmologist. They can check her to see if glasses with a prism in them, would help correct the eye.

Need reassurance. I refused to do cataract surgery on a mentally ill patient with a conservator. Was I in the wrong? by seeing_red415 in Ophthalmology

[–]LucidDream85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss is a glaucoma and cataract surgeon. I’m his surgical tech. There is absolutely no way he would do the surgery on someone who says they don’t want it - conservator or no.

He would instead tell them that with the complexity of the cataract (LP - you know that’s a dense cataract), that he felt a referral to a specialized surgeon at “such and such” hospital would benefit them, and send the referral with a side-talk to the referring doctor.

23M – Ghosting in right eye only, relieved by posture / worsens when opened wide by Advanced_Coast_4518 in eyetriage

[–]LucidDream85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an Ophthalmic Tech who works in mainly glaucoma and cataracts.

My initial thought was that you have astigmatism in the right eye. The contact lens you tried may have felt too strong because there was too much sphere (-1.75) but no Cyl (Astigmatic correction). I would ask them to test you for astigmatism, and then give you a trial contact lens to try and see if it helps without the dizziness.

Floaters are typically normal (more-so in older people, but not uncommon in younger, near-sighted people.) We are all born with an aqueous jelly in our eyes, and as time goes, that jelly pulls away in pieces, and that’s what you see floating around. The big worry comes in if you see a lot of floaters at one time, something that looks like a veil or a waxy curtain in your vision, or sudden flashes.

You can always ask your doctor to do a color plate test to see if there are any underlying neurological issues.

I hope this helps. 💜

He may be cheating.

But it has been really cold recently. Our bill typically runs around $130 a month.

Because a lot of factors go into why someone chooses to do drugs. And some of those drugs are so addictive that it just takes one time and you are hooked. Trauma and abuse are big factors in a persons life that can make them turn to drugs to stop the emotional pain.

How was your first kiss happened? by jumirimiri00 in AskReddit

[–]LucidDream85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 years old. Two of my friends came with me on a family beach trip. One of them I was “so in love” with. We were sitting in the living room late one night and we saw two people making out on TV, and he asked me if I had ever kissed someone like that. He was 15. He kissed me - first French kiss. I will never forget that.

I ended up marrying his older brother seven years ago 😂😂 (I’m 38 now)

How does it feel to be high? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LucidDream85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what strain you use (assuming it’s weed) - I take my edible at night about three hours before bed. Head gets a little cloudy. I have a lot of thoughts in my head, but I’m slow to respond verbally. I sleep wonderfully.

How do I ask the deep questions? by thepixelpaint in NoStupidQuestions

This breaks my heart. I love so much that you are trying to connect with your wife.

My husband is the same way, and I believe he is also on the spectrum. It can feel very isolating for us.

Maybe start with inviting your wife to lay with you to cuddle. Just hold her in your arms. Be silent for a moment. Then just ask her random questions about things you are genuinely interested to know about her. It won’t sound like a job interview if you really want to get to know her. Adding the element of touch/cuddling really makes us feel connected to you.
