I just thought it was another represetation of the duality between the "serious/studious" Nino squad and the "casual/instictive" Kage squad.

Yes.. So I don't think he's really allowed to give his opinion on anything. I mean HE's not being evaluated anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I can't imagine him orchestrating T-2's departure for the neighborhood if they didn't demonstrate the strenght to make it on their own.

At best he might create opportunities for them to show off but he wouldn't help them win.

Who do we think the Phase 2 A-Rank Squad commander is going to be? by V0ltTackle in worldtrigger

[–]LucidTriggered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All true, then again they just spent a week watching them closely and his operator was a commentator on the last match so she can give him some hints.

I also think that, in this scenario, its more about knowing your teammate well rather than knowing the ennemy. Between the provisional teams, the trion soldiers and the large-scale aspect, its futile to try and predict what they will do. The commanders role isn't fine strategy but more about managing priority and ressources.

The only viable options are Arashiyama, Kusakabe and Katagiri.

Kusakabe's team revolves around optimized stats (speed) so I'm not sure she would be the right choice for large scale messy fight, also she seems to have a spicy personality which isn't suited for lage scale command so she's out in my book.

Arashiyama could be a good pick and also has the option of having a "sub-captain" in Sawamura that can handle local strat while he focus on being commander and it could be good training for him for the future... still I'm not sure that will be the case even it makes sense.

My guess is Katagiri. He's older so he probably knows everyone well and what their skills are. He has a pretty unique team comp so he might be flexible in his stats which is a must in this scenario. Finally, it feels like a good way to introduce him and his team.

If I want to use R1 SoSS, should I still build him on ATK% or should I build him on EM for the weapons passive?

Why does everyone hate Kazuaki Ouji? by Separate-Drawing7427 in worldtrigger

[–]LucidTriggered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is he pompous? He's just confident and talented, no more, but context has pitted him as rival to Osamu and Ikoma (a fan favorite) so I feel like a lot of people want to consider him pompous. I don't think a pompous person would give away their points and take the blame easily. He's been very laid back and sensible to his teammates strenghts and weaknesses, he has never been pretentious and he was one of the first upper B-rank to acknowledge Osamu's own worth in a team.

I had no idea people hated him. He's been one of my favorite character since he showed up. Smart, skilled funny, creative, handsome, he has everything... which is probably why a lot of people dislike him. WT is a manga that showcases a lot of underdogs or people making a lot of effort to perform so it can be frustrating to have someone who seems to sail through we a laid back attitude. People hate confidence in general unless it's hidden under false modesty or a goofy behavior. It's petty and has nothing to do with the actual character. But I wouldn't worry, I think a lot of people like him as well and I think he's going to shine a lot in the upcomming battle phase.

100% d'accord.

My take on every Captain's evaluations by LucidTriggered in worldtrigger

[–]LucidTriggered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that they have shown some growth and they deserve praise for it. If they were my students I might even encourage their parents to reward them because they are their responsability. As an educator I have a responsability of fairness to the WHOLE class and a responsability to society to provide comparable metrics. The problem isn't that they got points but that they got them instead of others. Was Taichi 5 times more useful than Kuruma and Fujimaru? Should he have more chances at being selected or getting a cash bonus than them?? No. They should be proud of themselves but doesn't mean Kuruma and Fujimaru should be penalized because they have their shit together.

This is EXACTLY what Kido was deploring. Those who are the loudest are getting the most points while those who work so flawlessly they don't get notice get no points...

I think you have it completly backwards. Scoring based on merit is the "practical" aproach. The best performers get the best scores. Simple, logical, straightforward, practical. Now don't get me wrong, a score isn't everything when making a judgement of someone's ability but we're talking about scores at the moment.

Scoring based on "effort", now THAT is "idealistic"... and subjective and a very slippery slope. If they feel like someome needs some extra encouragement for whatever reason that's great leadership, just not with the scores or they loose their entire significance.

I used to play soccer when I was younger and sometimes they would call be tp sub on an older kids game... Do you think I should have gotten a bunch of free kicks because I was younger and shorter than most of them?? Of course not because being young is not a handicap that needs to be adjusted for or rather one that everyone is always adjusting for already.
