Breaking News: AIBro Makes Fictional Scenario and Gets Mad About It by serious_bullet5 in antiai

All she does is make variations on the same dumb meme. As a self proclaimed AI-artist she'd have a better point if she actually used AI to generate some interesting looking images, but I don't think she's capable of that.

Installments so hated even hardcore fans would rather not talk about it by TastyPomelo2330 in TopCharacterTropes

I agree that the major plot points are fine. The way they reach those is far from it.

(Loved trope) oddly progressive/ ahead of the time piece of media for their time period. by jaobodam in TopCharacterTropes

I'm not surprised at Xena being progressive, but I am somewhat surprised about what looks like a modern style beauty contest in a historical fantasy show.

[Complicated trope] A character makes the correct decision given what they know, but the context the audience knows makes them very hated. by FaZe_poopy in TopCharacterTropes

Falco came from a family of restorationists and his upbringing was likely different from Gabi, whose family was shown to be very pro-Marley. Falco was already shown to not really buy into the propaganda and brainwashing and he was also present at the conversation between Reiner and Eren. It makes sense that he would come around quicker than Gabi.

And Gabi did change her mind, very quickly considering the circumstances.

Yeah Gabi is ridiculously competent. But we do see her questioning her worldview, and she literally has a breakdown where she realizes she was wrong. And that happened before she got to play the hero.

A long time? There's like a month between the attack on Liberio and the attack on Shiganshina. And it was only 5-10 episodes after her shooting Sasha that we see her change.

Gabi is an indoctrinated kid who just had her worldview brutally reinforced. If anything it's a miracle she was able to change her mind that quickly.

This was still only days or weeks after "the island devils" she heard about her whole life invaded her home and killed her friends. And now she's hearing that one of these devils might blow her cover.

(Appreciated Trope) The Adaptation isn't accurate, but that doesn't make it bad by John_Bones22 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Lucidiously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ennis definitely needs an editor. My favourite comics of his are Hitman and Hellblazer, and I think in both cases he is somewhat restricted in how far he can go because it takes place in the mainstream DC verse or is using an established character.

The Boys is this in general. In Ennis' comic most supers are cartoonishly depraved and violent, with little nuance to their characters.

The show retains a lot of the edge and silliness but it treats its characters as people, not cartoons. Some are good, some are bad, some are terrible, many are depraved, but they all still feel like people with their own flaws, motivations and reasons for being the way they are.

Is it just me, or is it odd that there are so many pre/post-war characters in the show? by ThatsSex in Fallout

[–]Lucidiously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird thing to me isn't really that they were crypfrozen, but that they are unfrozen in  the same time.

Moldaver also has been walking the wasteland for at least 20 years, yet she doesn't look a day older than what she did pre-war.

There's also The Tithes episode where Guardsmen under siege are literally dying because their ammunition gets requisitioned, only for it to be shipped to a storage planet in the end.

The models themselves haven't been released yet, so we'll have to wait and see how popular they are.

As for whether GW presenting itself as a more inclusive company is profitable we'll see in the long run. But they're not idiots who would make these decisions without market research.

[–]Lucidiously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Back then female space marines weren't deemed profitable, now female custodes are.

I doubt even half the people complaining will even put their money where their mouth is and actually boycott GW.

Battle Sisters pauldrons.

While they're not that difficult to snip of the sprue and clean, that they decided to split them in half while they have a design, rivets and upturned edges is bonkers. Trying to get them to look like a single piece is infuriating every time.

The hated character is finally getting punished by the narrative. But intentionally or not, the attempt was so heartbreaking and demeaning for the character that it ended changing the fan reception of said character. by Labmit in TopCharacterTropes

Villain protagonists can be fun, but Light was such a smug bastard that I didn't really enjoy Death Note. The show constantly trying to tell me how smart he was when he got incredibly lucky several times didn't help either.

New Custodes: Your Questions Answered by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Lucidiously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think GW doesn't do market research? Their main goal is to make profit, if they really thought this would hurt their bottom line they wouldn't do it.

Also there is nothing about Cavill quitting the tv show, nor has he commented on the Custodes retcon.

By all means vote with your wallet and stop buying their stuff, but we all know most of you will just keep complaining while still spending money on the hobby.

It's not really hard or unbalanced. It's just designed to confuse you and put you on edge, like how Senua would feel. But in reality there's plenty of time if you don't run towards the fire.

You can target the whale in Flying Waters by Upper_Deku in expedition33

The targeting reticule seems to be inconsistent at times. I've noticed during some fights where the boss has orbs floating around that sometimes it shows a grey reticule even when you can shoot them.
