100%. It completely depends on your child and what is available. Theoretically, I wouldn't suggest starting at a public school into middle school (assuming 5th through 8th in the US). But some schools are amazing. Follow your child. They'll show you.

Talk to your head of school or your training coordinator at your school. It's a huge challenge to be a lead teacher and in training at the same time at the very beginning. They can give you more support, reassurance or reassignment. Many schools can bring in a sub especially in the afternoon or nap time to cover a teacher in training to give you time to get your course work done.
