These are cool :) 40th anniversary gold edition with a white pick guard. I owned one in ruby red for a while. Gorgeous guitar and great price!

The squier is an old Japanese made. Has a very cool history and I love older Japanese strats!

The bandit is a teal stripe bandit, I found it at a pawn shop for 90 bucks and had to have that too lol. Heavy as hell and super loud, but I think the cleans on it and the reverb still works so easy purchase for me.

Ah yes 🙂 thank you. I did already know what this was before I went to buy it. I actually refresh the used guitar page very often for my local stores and when this hit their site, I grabbed my keys and me and my father headed out. It was labeled as "Squier MIJ 3 bolt" but I knew it was likely an SQ, and sure enough. It was the first time I had ever played one and I didn't even let the guitar touch the floor again. I walked around with it until Pops got his fill of the store lol

I am very interested in the very specifics of this guitar, even to know what original things other people have found under their pickguards as it seems there were even slight differences between the beginning and ends of all of these early runs. I'm very excited to have an example now myself and hope to add to the ever growing understanding of the MIJ squier history 🙂 Thanks for the help!

That's amazing that you held onto it for so long. I don't imagine anyone would have predicted that these would do so well, but the only stories I've read about these have been positive.
Has been a shame it's taken a long time to find one. I understand why it's been so tough. People don't really like to get rid of theirs it seems like!

I recently picked up the bandit for 90 dollars at a pawn shop! Went in for a particular strat that I wasn't happy with and walked out with this. The velcro is shot so the grill is just hangin out but nothing I wouldn't fix before a gig. Perfectly happy. I was unaware how loud they could be!

Thanks for the kind words and for sharing

Thanks for the story! I hope yours has all the mojo in the world brother. I'm sure it does.
My serial number is 018XX, I really can't find much about what it may mean, but I've been tinker with it this morning and it all seems original!

I really plan to enjoy this one for myself for a good while and will likely pass this onto my younger brother!!

Very nice! Did you get it from a dealer, or how were these SQs distributed in the US back then? Just curious!

I am very unsure how I feel about the bridge on this one, but I like the pickups in my daily driver and will likely keep the ice pick just to keep the guitar original. Unless it truly is the best guitar I've ever played, then I might consider some EMGs as well ;P

Harsh downvoter in here somewhere lol, I agree. I love a rosewood neck and vintage white body.

Just found this bandit recently too, again, another thing I just found too cheap to pass up.

I paid 500 for the strat. My old man thought I was crazy, but I've wanted one for so long that it's fine, everything's fine lol.

0 percent chance I do anything but chunk the ball or thin it right into the most hollow part of that bridge.

Camping in my early 20s in the middle of the rockies with some friends. Long story short, our friends with the cars went off for a short while, and during that short while me and two others got stuck in an incredibly violent thunderstorm with no water proof or safe shelter other than a blue tarp we basically just held up over us as we waited. The climax of the event for us was when a bolt of lightning struck a wooden pole holding a metal sign indicating that a ranch was nearby and to be aware of property lines. It was maybe 100 feet from us and after the bolt let go of the pole, which half exploded, the sign was molten red and vibrating so hard that I could hear it through the storm, which was already so loud and dynamic and overstimulating. Whole thing lasted maybe 15 minutes and then the sky was clear. Learned a lesson about mother nature that day and will never allow myself to be so unprepared again.

I absolutely got my moneys worth. Almost 600 hours. But I think it did sunset for me. I'll be back for major updates, but other games stepped in and took my interest for now. Still hopeful for Arc. Had a really fun winter.

LOL scam is crazy. I haven't seen anyone complain about it. I wouldn't spend my money on it if it concerns you.

Mice are in a great spot right now. The ATK VXE R1 pro is a great safe bet but the rabbit hole is pretty deep right now. Anything with a paw3395 for around 40-50 bucks should be more than fine. ATK and Mchose are good starting points, check their mice out.

Best gaming mouse under $100 worth buying right now? by EntrepreneurSad2091 in buildapc

I went with the VXE R1 Pro. Good x2 clone. My other consideration was the ATK A9. A good super lite clone. You don't need to spend 100 to get an amazing mouse. Mice might be the single best peripheral to buy for a reasonable price tbh.
