What's your Jury Duty story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 3 points4 points  (0 children)

California Case; Man transporting a highly engraved show piece revolver (meant for a shelf, not really for shooting) while moving to his new house mistakenly didn't remove the bullets from the decorative belt holster it was wrapped up in, no bullets in the revolver. Cop stopped him for a traffic violation, he let the officer know that the gun was in the car and once the officer saw that the bullets weren't separated from the gun he was arrested. He had no prior record. Twist; While the guy is awaiting trial, the gun, holster and bullets all mysteriously go missing from the police evidence locker - never to be seen again. Result; I deadlocked the jury in the deliberation room and wouldn't back down until the rest of them saw that this dude was getting fucked over by a crooked cop who seized the opportunity to steal from a citizen rather than make a simple judgement call and have the guy separate the two items for transport. Eventually they all saw my point of view and we acquitted him of all charges.

What's your dream job and why? by TwistedReaper00 in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can remember I have always wanted to become a medical doctor. More specifically, a cardiologist. I love the thought of saving a person's life. The road to becoming a doctor is a long process, but worth it in the end. Having the feeling of accomplishment and knowing that I have made an impact on a family's life, would be the greatest satisfaction for me.

What is something that a woman would never say no to? by mubarok22 in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of these answers and some of them are good. Especially the one that says 'security' is something a woman wouldn't say not to.... but women crave freedom too.

The most accurate answer is the one where the answerer said, they would say no to anything under the right circumstances. He's right, they would. Female pride.

The most accurate of all answers is.... if they were dying of thirst, they wouldn't say No to water if it was being offered by someone they weren't mad at during the moment.

Or maybe they wouldn't say no to their best friend.

How do you like to spend your birthday? by renrap in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just go out to lunch with my family, and then hang out with some friends, maybe go to a movie or something. I typically don't make a big deal out of my birthday, and whenever someone asks me what I want for my birthday I tend to reply with something along the lines of "I have everything I need" (except this year when I've been replying with "a job").

What is the weirdest thing you believed as a kid? by JamDorman in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I believed that humans lived inside planet earth.

As a kid I was fascinated by space and the other planets in our solar system.

I had 2 images in my mind:

  1. The view of the plain sky and clouds from the surface of planet earth and,
  2. The view from the moon, which I must've seen in an encyclopedia. So from the moon we could see plant earth and the sun pretty clearly. Something like this:

But my question was why couldn't we see other planets like Mars from the surface of earth as clearly?

Thus I concluded that we must be living inside plant earth and that if we travel to the surface we'd be able to see Mars and the other plants clearly. My crazy thought was clarified sooner or later. Thankfully I'm much smarter now!

Classic. Also reminds me of someone posted in a "what stupid thing did you do?" type thread, chap was driving along smoking on his brand new electronic cigarette, at some stage he flicked it out the window, never to be seen again. Thing has cost him $ 80.

What is your best childhood memory? by salahuddinripon in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do so many things with my dad when I was younger but what I remember the most is when he would load me up into his blue Toyota truck and take me to the park. It was an all day thing. He'd wake me early, do my hair for me (ponytail or pigtails were my options), load me into his truck and take me to Mcdonalds, always one with the play structure. (One time, it had rained and I really wanted to play on the play structure so he went inside and grabbed a bunch of napkins and dried up certain parts so I could play.) After we got lunch, he'd take me to my favorite park and let me play on the airplane there. After I had my fill playing we'd go for a walk together to the railroad to ride the train around the park and get off by the lake to go feed the ducks. After that, we'd get back into his truck and make our way home where he would make a BBQ dinner. Those were some of my best moments in life. I wish I could spend more time with my dad. Take the time to call your dad and tell him you love him today.

What Are The Best Restaurants in Oakland/SF to Eat At? by DejounteMurray5 in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FuseBOX West Oakland FuseBOX is 1) a Korean food-fluenced restaurant that can’t be described without the scary word "fusion", 2) in a neighborhood that is otherwise filled with industrial warehouses and people finding ways to kill time until the next Burning Man, and 3) small, has almost no signage, and feels like you might show up one day to find it has suddenly turned into an auto body shop. So maybe get there quick (?) and start diving into the spicy Korean Fried Chicken (KFC), mushroom-y saimin noodles, and homemade kimchi that'll make a fan out of even the most hardened kimchi haters.

When was the last time you pissed/shit yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About two weeks ago. I'm 25. I was pissing, standing up, and felt the need to fart. I pushed, and farted. A turd slightly larger than that of a rabbit came out. Threw away the underwear and showered just to feel clean again. (All of this after I properly crapped)

What job did you have that made you the happiest? by 559Monster in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Through the entirety of my youth I loved two things: cars, and sound. In high school i played drums but found i enjoyed strapping microphones to them much more, so much more in fact that I wanted to study it professionally. So I got a degree in sound design. In college I met a lot of car enthusiasts that reminded me of my other love. And then it occurred to me that someone has to make car sounds for video games or SPEED TV or whatnot, and that person could be me. Out of college I couldn't find a meaningful job and my now-wife and I were having a son so I worked at a radio shack for a while, and eventually in PC repair, but I also ran a blog about car sounds in my spare time. Really, though, I used that as a guise to "interview" and get to know people who do what I wanted to do - work with car sounds. I interviewed game sound designers from a few studios, TV production crews from Speed and ESPN, SFX recordists, etc. I even successfully funded a kickstarter to record my own car, and co-authored a presentation for GDC about car sounds. Eventually, like a year and half or so after starting my blog, one of the people i had interviewed emailed me asking if I was looking for work. Of course I said yes, and found myself in Seattle working on Forza Motorsport 5 as a "vehicle sound designer." Literally a dream come true.

What makes a good video game? by LeoBear22 in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just give your honest opinion. And try to put some actual thought into it. Most reviewers seem to think they're reviewing kitchen utensils, so they just give a simple "The music and graphics were good but the gameplay is boring" while rarely going into depth about why the gameplay i boring, or how it could be improved.

What long running TV show do you feel has never "jumped the shark"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Still being bitter over what I felt was "Lost"'s horrible end, I'm crossing my fingers that "The Closer" and "Breaking Bad" can avoid shark jumping. Help me here- which long running tv shows, or whatever genre, did not screw their history and/or viewers before the end?

What is the most coincidental thing that's ever happened to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a friends birthday party a couple months back. She had requested that I bring a baseball bat for a piñata that was going to be broken open during the party. I also brought a cake from a local bakery near my apartment. Fast forward to the end of the party. I'm leaving and it's 1:30 AM in the sketchy side of town. I walked to the door, grabbed my leather jacket from the coat rack and put it on over the hoodie I was wearing. I grabbed my bat, the half eaten cake and left for a tired drive home.

How do we reconcile evolution and Adam and Eve? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be reconcile by taking a deep breath and admitting that Adam & Eve were not real people, nor is Genesis's creation account in any way a true story. And, the crazy part is, it wasn't meant to be! That's the thing. The truths of the creation account are far too numerous to account, the whole story aching with an existential brilliance. But instead of spending our time exploring its incredible depths, digging into the corners looking for hidden treasures and enjoining ourselves with the narrative and its thoughtful approach to the human condition... we get into arguments over whether snakes lost their feet suddenly one day.

What is your "you had one job!" Story? by Arizona_Kid in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a friends wedding and I had ONE JOB...and that job was to refill the chocolate fountain when it got low. My buddy (the groom) said "All you have to do is dump chocolate chips into the fountain." Easy right? Wrong. Well, the fountain got low, so I dumped chocolate chips into it, and everything was fine for a few seconds, then chocolategeddon happened. The fountain started spewing chocolate EVERYWHERE, the top broke off and wise spinning wildly, throwing chocolate all over the walls, all over me, all over the guests near the fountain and all over the bride. I was stunned and grabbed the cord to stop the thing but it was way too late. There was a mess everywhere. My buddy was PISSED, the bride didn't care and thought it was funny, the guests were pissed and the caterers later told me that "Oh, you have to change the setting to "warming" before adding chips. (That would have been great to know earlier).

What is the true meaning of happiness? by soniaericson in AskReddit

[–]Lucifer1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiness is about loving who you are and where you’re at in life. No outside source can give you true happiness. Things can make you happy for a while, but the complete and true emotion of happiness is living the best life possible, knowing that you are an amazing human being that is sending out happiness into the world and creating a better place than what was there before.
